Question about shoulder pain
Hi, I am 59 years old and was diagnosed with Parkinsons a year ago. I take Azilect 1 mg and Requip 8 mg slow release. No matter what I do (physical therapy or exercise) I can't get rid of shoulder pain from PD. Any suggestions?

Parkinson's. Next my shoulder pain is from stiff muscles, so I also besides PT and exercises from My therapist use moist heat which helps. But one other thing that really helps is massage therapy. I would be using a hot tub if I hadn't had to give up my club membership also. I also take magnesium because my primary said it would help with pain. Donna |
Hi,
Sorry you're having relenting shoulder pain. It is tough to deal with. If you don't use it, though, you'll end up with a frozen shoulder. Ouch !!!!! Have you tried Lidoderm 5% patches? Horse linement (DMSO or DSMO)? LED and infrared light pads? Kinesio tape? Thermacare, like at K-mart? don't know if they have one for shoulders, but they do for back, neck and knees. Glucosimine/Chdrodin? Fossamax? Calcium? Fish Oil? mobilization/immobilization? hair dryer on a stand? decrease use of alcohol, caffeine, smoking? inhale water? yoga? gentle stretching? chiropractor? What's your diagnosis related to the shoulder problem, like a tear, arthritis, narrowing, spasm? PD can cause problems but you need to understand the mechanics of what's going on with it. Just a few things that comes to mind. |
