Weekend Check in Thread: Feb. 6, 2010 How Are You?

Hello,

What is happening?

I plan on sleeping this weekend.
Also a trip out of the house to get a hair cut.
Then back inside to do work stuff.
And maybe a trip to the gym.
Mostly, I'm really focused on sleeping until time for work on Monday.

that sounds like a good plan Mari,
I am going to have a festival international poster framed this weekend...we lov ethis artist and could never afford her work so I bought the poster and will have it framed...micheals is having another framing sale .......and we have gift cards from christmas.
Our first Mardi Gras parade is tonight....club rio, our neighbor across the street is on one of the 22 floats and promised to throw us some good beads! WE are going to a ball with her next friday, it is the Apollo crewe
the gay crew and they always have wonderful costumes,(this will be her 5th ball) it should be fun.
Plan on Half-Watching the superbowl tomorrow...it is too stressful. Will do paperwork and listen for exciting moments and run in the living room to see the instant replays. I wonder how many Saints fans can afford to go to the superbowl...if there will be a good turn out?
I just bought my ticket to see the Indigo Girls here!!!!!! March 4th at a fairly small venue with some girl friends. I love them! Had better do my stretching exercises for my shoulder, PT went fine last week I really think it is helping!!!!One thing he told me was to work on my posture....bizi who is sitting slumped over the computer...straighten up girl!

No plans, sleep would be nice if it would come. Having a very difficult time. the ex, has been truely evil. 35 years of abuse and harassment. **.

I have a job interview for this week. The challange is the pain, not sleeping and all the legal stuff and depression.
But, we need the income and benefits. DH can retire in May, and still get UC for a few more months.

Dear Beth,
It's great to read all this activity that you are up to!

I've heard that that is the job of physical therapists -- to work on posture. Perhaps most people can use a refresher course.
I'm glad that you feel good about the physical therapy.

I hope that you enjoyed the first parade.
Mari

Dear Di,
Good luck with the interview. I hope the pain becomes less of a challenge.
It is good to hear from you.

Jeff was in houston yeaterday with his friend who picked up a vehicle that they bought...jeff was on a beer run....
today, I decided to actually make omelets.
(Have not made one for a decade!)
feta cheese, avocado, sharp chedder,
sour cream, whipped eggs, butter and voila! Omelets!
A bit of habenaro sauce and they were great if I say so myself!:o
Jeff just pulled out his friendship cinnamin bread, and he is making fresh homemade salsa for his super bowl party.
It has been busy in the kitchen!
When I went to the store it is crazy in there!
every body is excited about the game and friendly and
there was music playing about the saints and
mardi gras and "we believe"....
It brought tears to my eyes!
game start is 3 hours!!!!!!

OMG!!!!!! How exciting!!!!

Had a Great Break

I got back yesterday - Sunday the 7th - after a week of blissful, no-real-responsibility kind of a holiday.
I stayed with my sister who takes care of me like only a sister can.
She was busy, busy, busy with her dance school, choreography for a new show, working with her repertory and official appearances that are a requirement in her role as a senior dancer.
Even then, she, her husband and my little, big (6'1" and 17 yrs.) nephew took a lot of pains to look after me.

Every evening I went to spend time with my father - that is always special.
He is a veteran of WW2 (he is 87) and has many stories to tell.
Being the kind of person he is, he found humour in events that could have gone so badly wrong for him.
He is very well read and is still a voracious reader - so it is a treat to talk to him.

He is pretty forgetful, always has been, like on Saturday he asked my brother if I knew his wife! :D Umm they have been married now for nine years and have two children - but since it is not dementia, and of the 'absent minded professor' variety, it causes much hilarity. The trait runs in the family - I carry the torch in this generation.

Anyway, had a GREAT time - lots of eating and sleeping and cozy companionship.
Its a feeling I wish for all of you and I, as often as possible.
