70 year old guy, non-diabetic, but have symptoms of autonomic neuropathy.

Lots of tests concluded: no neurological communication between brain and bladder. (Using catheter) Toes and pads of feet somewhat numb also.

Open to any suggestions: considering buying a good TENS unit. Have used a borrowed one a while but so far no relief.

Welcome to NT

Not a doc, just some thoughts...

Well, there's alternative medical things, like a nautropathic healer that could offer supplements and other treatment methods for relief of symtpoms. They're very knowledgeable. You should do that in conjunction with a understanding doctor. That may be asking too much for a MD or DO to defer to a nautropathic, but who knows. if they don't have the solution, do look elsewhere.

LED/infrared light therapy pads. They helped me when the regular stuff didn't. Be glad to tell you more if you're interested.

accupuncture - who knows. they may be able to help with the numbness and give you sensation back, if there's not a diagnosed cause for it then you may be able to reverse it. We can pray for that. and not having all those other things that you tested negative for is a relief. That's a good thing to know.

You may never know what it is, but you do need to find things to help you.

someone over there may have dealt with these issues.

This is a great place to find friends and information about the latest technologies.

someone may come along and have some suggestion for you regarding vitamin, herbs and supplements, as a vitamin deficiency can cause lots of problems.

If the TENS is not helping, I wouldn't invest in one of those. I think there's a different kind of a TENS like device out now. It has the leads too. Just works a little different.

Just good general foot care could give you some improvement with your feet. Massages, pedicures, lotions, soaks, drinking lots of water.

Your feet are the farthest points from your heart. I'm sure they've checked circulation issues.

but still numb for a reason... maybe not getting oxygenination/nerve signals for some reason.

Hope to see you around the board.

I agree with the person that didn't think you should buy a tens'
If it didn't help with the friends. I have one that worked very well
for some things and places.

But right now were I'm needing it its not helping near as much.
