Shunt Pain
Hi Everyone!
I am new to this site and have questions. Born with Cruzon's Syndrome, I had a shunt put in as an infant with the last revision done at age 5. I am now 30 and experiencing pain around the incision on my abdomen and back and thru the side inbetween the two incisions. This pain feels like my skin in being pulled apart and fluctuates from mild to extreme. Last night I had a hard time actually laying on that side to sleep! I also have some neck pain along the shunt line and a headache that comes and goes. Any ideas or recommendations on what to do? I haven't seen a neurologist in 15 years since the last time I was experiencing shunt pain/headaches. That episode resolved on its own with no useful help from the neurologist. Also, I have been going to a chiropractor recently for lower back pain. While the adjustments have been very mild, could these appointments have started my shunt pain? |
