Update
Hi everybody.
I've been unable to attend the computer for a while as you have seen. Just wanted to chime in and tell you I'm doing better, but went through a lot in the past couple weeks and I got very sick. I guess the stress took a lot out of my body and I got very sick from it. I'm still feeling the effect and still wicked tired. I've changed to a muscle injection and my bladder thing is not better at this time. I can walk and everything, but not mentally satisfactory yet and very tired all the time. I took more time off from work and that was difficult to do. With my mental state right now and I am dealing with incontinence(we are still working on that and it did get worse when I got sick) but I am told that will turn around for me soon. Besides that I have been amazingly tired...unbelievably tired so it was logical for me not to think about working right now. Everything came and hit me hard and it was so awful. I am turning around though... I'm feeling better and started injections on my own now(was very hard to do it) Doctor said most everything was caused by the stress. I've been talking to a councellor(who I love to death) and she is making me feel so much better. The Dx is final and it isn't good, but we are working on that. I have lots of help...my aunt, cousin and mom and sister are helping me out... I'm grateful, because my walk is still a little shaky ATM lol.... I can't drive the car right now, but it's ok..I'll be driving soon. Right now I am tired and a little achy, but I am coming around.....I am on the bottom and I am starting to come back up now...:) Take care everyone. |
Thanks for updating us, Eric. I'm glad to hear that things are beginning to look better for you. I think we all had that period of adjustment after hearing our diagnosis.
Take care of yourself and don't push yourself too much. Fatigue can be crushing. It's like being tired times one thousand. Sleeping even wears you out! :p Remember we're always here to offer support and encouragement. |
Glad to hear you are on the mend. It such a great feeling when we see progress and improvement in our symptoms.
Rest up now! Spring is right around the corner and you have a bike to ride. You need to get ready to enjoy that.:p |
Hi Eric,
You said you have changed to muscle injections. I guess it is one of the interferons? They can make you feel sick, like you have the flu. Also make you tired. I am glad you are doing them yourself now. That is an accomplishment and hard for some people to do. It is great you have family support and a nice doctor to talk to. Do you take any medication, like Tylenol or Aleve, or Advil right before your injection? You may feel better if you can do that. I hope your problems go away soon and that the medication helps you. It takes time for these injectables to help. Good luck and thanks for the update. |
Avonex is a good med, and only once a week! wooo! its hard to use copaxone everyday. You get used to it, but its a rough road.
I am so happy that you stuck your head in the door to update us. We were wondering. As for the incontinence, please dont panic. As things calm down, that should too. Stress can have devestating effects on an MS body. I am glad you are seeing someone who can help you cope. Driving is important, but if you cant, there are things like dial a ride, and friends. Hang in there. When you are feeling up to it, come on back and tell us all about your adventure through MS lane. |
Thanks for the update, Eric...was wondering how you were doing.
I have incontinence issues too...I take Sanctura for urge incontinence, and it has gradually reduced the problem so now it's tolerable. I hope that yours clears up... the fatigue is one of the worst symptoms IMHO...hope you rest up and feel better real soon. Know that we're all here for ya, ready to chime in with advice, hugs and laughs... |
I'm glad to hear you are on your meds and hanging in there, if only by a thread, some days.

I feel great today! lol..
Headache is completely gone and not so tired. I went all kinds of berzerk when I got the shot...I am sensetive to meds anyways and back when I was 13 or so I used to get sick getting shots for my allergies.. I even got sick from anastesia(SP?) when I got an ear operation at 14 lol. However, this time it was terrible... Bad reaction or whatever and it did me in. I got so tired afterwards that I couldn't even walk without wanting to sleep and my "trickle thing" went haywire lol(mother purchasing tena undies for you is so very humbling lol) Anyways.. looks good... I have no probs "going" now and whatever they gave me must of kicked in. So yes...feeling great ATM..... Even went out to the garage to mess with my Camaro a little bit....felt so goooooddd...lol. Take care. (Eric) |
YAYyyyyyyy, Eric...so glad you are feeling better. I love your attitude...that's half the battle. And, yes those anxiety meds are grrrrreat. :)
|
Thanks, Sally
Well my attitude hasn't been great about it at all and I was hard to talk with for a week after the realization, but I feel great and I drove the car today...I even went to a snowmobile race with dad and my uncle on Saturday. They found more on the MRI and the results were less than aspiring, but although I go up and down with my mood right now, I am generally feeling a ton better now. I don't feel sick anymore either. My main thing now is getting back to work. |
