Anyone here in Lyrica?
My doc put me on Lyrica yesterday for all the pain I have, I took the first capsule last night, this morning I am so dizzy, I know this can be a side effect, but does it go away.
|
My sister has been on Lyrica for a good while for Fibromyalgia. I think she had some side effects at first but they didn't last long. The fibromyalgia forum might have some people there that could help.

you should NOT be that dizzy from the pill. They may need to start you on a lower dose, and work your way up to that level. CAll the MD and ask if you can cut it in half. or ask the pharmacy where you had it filled if that pill can be cut in half. Then on Monday, call the MD and ask for advice.
You need to be safe while on the med. Small dizzy is ok till you get used to it, but major mind blowing dizzy isnt acceptable. Many folks get used to a med within a few days or a week of starting the meds. DONT DRIVE! and for Gosh sake dont drive that back hoe in the back yard. ...hehehe... Feel better quick. |
Dejibo is so right. Has it helped with the pain at all? I tried it after I went off Neurontin. It made my symptoms for taking it worse.:(
I think Wiz takes it. Some people love it. But like Neurontin, you have to take small dosages in the beginning. What kind of pain are you having? |
I tried it for two weeks. It was not helping, making me more tired, and extremely constipated. I experienced more success with neurontin, but stopped taking it when it did not seem to be helping anymore. I was taking 2700 mg and did not want to increase my dosage.
|
I was up to 3600 mgs of Neurontin, because it stopped working for me too barbo2. That is why I very slowly weaned off it and tried Lyrica. It is used off-label for MS. Lyrica was tested and was made for diabetic neuropathy and Fibro pain. Not always useful for MS people.

I remember my doc told me to take it at night, right before going to bed as it could make me feel dizzy... I felt, not precisly dizzy, more like... "absent" for the first couple of nights and then, THAT particular side effect went away...
|
I have been taking a small dose of Lyrica twice a day. It has helped me a great deal with nerve pain. I don't think it has causes any side effects. But I've had so much stuff going on sometimes it's hard to know what's side effects and what's ms. When I don't take it though, I can really tell it. So I have been thankful for it.
I hope you find some relief soon without extra side effects. |
I am over the dizziness, but what do you do about the constipation, ms has already caused that problem, what do I do now?
|
constipation can be managed.
Miralax works! fiber tablets help. Flax seed on your oatmeal helps. water, water, water! I find if its really bad, I start on Miralax. this helps me get things started. i stay on that for two days. Then I switch to benefiber tablets, and the occasional Phillips milk of magnesia tablet at night. I find that miralax gives me a tummy ache, so I prefer to not stay on it, but it does work! If you can do any exercise, that too will help. Walking is just fine. It helps get the peristalsis moving in the tummy. If you cant, then dont worry about it. I hope you feel better. |
