My friend, this evening, handed me this card that she got in a magazine. It's a Hallmark Online Surprise.

She said "you have a webcam, right?" I said 'sure'. She said "Take it home, and follow directions".

I did so.

WELL!!! I never was so impressed in all my life. You click on some instructions, it downloads a plug-in from Hallmark, then you are looking at yourself via webcam. You hold the card up to the web cam and all these dancing people are singing and dancing on top of the card. Like a hologram. I called Alan over and had him sit down and you should have seen his face. He was holding the card with the dancing figures on it. He said 'What the???"

I said: "ALIENS"

You have to see this to believe it. Go to hallmark.com/extra and click on the video. You see exactly what happens if you had your own card.

It's the coolest thing I ever saw.

and I realized that when you go to Hallmark.com/extra, they give you the option of printing out your own card so you can experience it yourself.

I think what they are telling you to print, is exactly the same little card that my friend gave me. It's kind of like a small freebie.

It really hooked me. I can only imagine that when you go into a Hallmark store, and actually purchase one of these cards, and hold it up to your webcam, well it must have LOTS OF DANCING HOLOGRAMS AND FLOWERS, and just pretty things floating in the air right in front of you.

But, on the other hand, I have MANY FRIENDS AND RELATIVES, all with webcams but THEY WOULD NEVER DOWNLOAD ANYTHING ON THEIR COMPUTERS, let alone any plug-ins. They wouldn't understand what a plug-in is.

I would buy these cards for many people just to have them experience this on their birthdays, mother's day, etc.

But if they won't download a plug in, they can't view anything.

So for me, I can't purchase it for anyone else.

But I'll tell you this, if I EVER SEE AN AVATAR CARD (it's my FAVORITE movie), I'd buy it in a minute, just to have it for myself.
