bumped head 2 weeks ago

hello,
I had an injury 2 weeks ago (was putting a heavy shelf on the shoulder, it leaned and hit my head left side 1,5 inches behind ear)
I just had light-headedness for 1 week. Still could do everything but tired by early evening. No sore spots on my head, no headaches, no pain.
2nd week - as if clogged left ear and some mild pain/pressure here and there, light-headness practically is gone.

I havent been to the doctors, I dont have an insurance.
I am wondering at which point i should start getting worried.
What would be signs to be concerned and infection?

Thanks
Mills

It sounds like you should get checked out. I am more concerned that you may have injured any of the complex anatomy of the occipital condyle/C-1 and the related nerves and vascular structure.

I would suggest calling the various clinics in your area to find one that will accept you. They may have a payment program.

If this happened at work, Work Comp should help you out. otherwise, I would check out the clinics that cater to the uninsured and under-insured. They often focus on MediCaid patients.

Many of us who are insured have high deductibles and pay out of pocket for many services. The health care providers have payment programs for these situations that should be available to you.
