Dsmo?

I tried to PM CTenaLouise but can't...she mentioned DSMO helping her, what is that? Sorry to start a thread just for this one thing, but if it might help us or someothers...

I think maybe she got the letters juxtopposed, it is DMSO. It is dimethyl sulfoxide. I am fairly familiar with this agent. I read about it over 30 years ago. It worked marvelously on my mother's arthrtise. From what I understand there isn't a professional athlete that doesn't have it in their locker. There is quite a bit of info on the internet about it. It relieves arthritic and sports related pain when applied topically almost instantly. It should be used with caution however.
When applying the hands must be completely clean since cthe DMSO is directly absorbed into the skin and anything attached to it such as sodium ions from the soap (sodium stearate) or potassium can be absorbed by active transport into the skin and then systemically throughout the body's internal organs. An interesting but harmless side effect is tha you will almost instantly mget the aftertaste of garlic in your mouth.
I still use it and it has been very effective on aches and pains. I get pure DMSO directly from Sigma chemicals. tThe preparations I purchased on the internet were ineffective. Pleas research before you decide to use.

Hope this helps

Wayne
