rsd and red blood count related?

hello to everyone i have not been on here in a long time i have been just dealing with having rsd and social security. i have a question and was hoping some one can help i had a blood test done to check my liver makeing sure it still works from all this wonderful meds they got me on and they did a full i think it is called a cvc? but the doc said my red blood count is high and when i looked at the paper everything that had to do with my red blood count said high she said it was from smoking to quit but i thought that was odd, could this be anything to do with rsd? any thoughts would be great thanks for your time and hoping for a pain free day, michelles

It could be related to RSD.

SOmetimes a high red blood count means your blood is too thick. I remember Vicc who has now passd away had the theory that rsd cuased hypoxia of tissues (low oxygen). And if your tissues are hypoxic I think your body would want to overproduce red blood cells to try to get it more oxygen.

Google Plycythemia Vera and ask your doctor about it.

I have had the exact thing only since RSD. Everything to do with red blood counts are high. dr. even sent me to Hemotologist. I too smoke, but only had these elevations since RSD-Carol
