security tokens?

I keep getting my stuff kicked back, posts, PMs etc because a "security token was missing" and I be doggoned if I see any in which to respond.

Is that only affecting things from neurotalk or all of your emails?

Have you updated or had any browser updates lately?
Or maybe a setting got changed on your browser?

I would try a different browser to see if that is having something to do with it. FireFox, Flock, Opera etc.- all free.

I'm thinking if it was the site here many more would be having problems.

Do you use webmail or a pop mail program, like -Outlook, Outlook express or Thunderbird? If a pop mail program that could be where the problem came about also.

If this just started happening try to recall any changes that were made on your computer at the same time frame??

Only here, on a post, PM and also in using the above task bar "search" where there is no secuity code to list. The complaint post went through ok. Well, at first since it is only here, I thought it was just blocking me from doing anything but reading! lol

I did a quick Google on "security tokens missing" and came up with this - maybe you can find the answer there- I'll skim thru some and see what I can find out also.

Are you using a skin or theme here?
I saw a mention that mentioned older skins might get that message.

and also this tip

[ "Missing Security Token"
For those of you who have been having this problem with the forum lately, please clear your cache and cookies and you should hopefully no longer experience this issue after doing so. It appears to have been isolated to a batch of firefox users, and should have been corrected. Please clear your cache and cookies, etc

site issue

Hi. Well, it's not my error, it's a site issue. I submitted a post reply and got this, then used my back button and submitted it again (doing nothing else) and it was accepted. Yes I use firefox. Yes, my cache is cleared etc etc. That I didn't have to do anything on this end but resubmit is obvious it's not an issue at this end. A minor nuisance at this point. ;)

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

And again that happened with submission of this post. Went on second submit.

JD
if it were a "site issue" others would also be experiencing it, but you appear the only one, so it seems this is not related to this website

maybe PM DocJohn about it if you would like him to look into it for you

Firefox has an error in it... the new 3.6.

There is an update for it now..which is not automatic yet.
3.6.2

They rushed it through because of some security glitch.

You might want to update if you haven't already.

I don't know what exactly it was ...but Germany threatened to dump FF completely, so a fix was rushed thru early this week.
Hubby read about it and we updated.

I am not very computer literate.... and in fact the last 2 days Google is not working well for us either. :Dunno:

I don't know if this helps or not. But I thought I'd throw it out there.

DocJohn 03-28-2010 06:38 AM

Does it happen with other browsers?

Are any other users experiencing this?
