Special Request ... not for me
... rather for my son ... as the Neuro had said years
ago when my son was Dx'd with Epilepsy, "Like mother, like son..." Recently, he had went to the Physician and to the Doctor's astonishment, he has the exact same cardiac problem as I have ... MVP (Mitral Valve Prolapse) with Regurgitation, that goes along with his high Blood Pressure. :( Which I could repeat what the Neurologist said years ago ... "like mother, like son..." While my son and I have so much in common in many ways and differing in other ways; it is mitochondrial. They have yet to test him on this. Meanwhile, he is also a Proud Papa and a married man, in his mid-20s. It is scary for one to know one being a mirror-image of the other; but how much has yet to be determined. Even more so upon his own beloved child. Pray for both of them or keep them in your thoughts please! Thank you so much! :grouphug: |
You got it.

Prayers being said, Southie! :smileypray:

Update
My son is now scheduled to see a Cardio-Surgeon
shortly, one of my Cardio-Surgeons who is on my team (they work at both Hospitals, but he is being sent to the other Hospital). There may be a possibility he might have to undergo some surgical procedures soon, which is very puzzling because throughout all this years (HMO Physicians) had been ignoring him and his complaints of chest pains and deeming it as "psychological". I thank you for your prayers ... God is moving! |
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.:smileypray:

The reports are in, my son has the same
mitochondrial that I have; his cardiac is a mirror reflection of what I have - in my records in his age had been compared ... just too eerie. A few folks have met me in person, and are aware of scars - one of them on my left shoulder due to rotor cuff and then some, surgery from years ago - with the Orthopedic Surgeon found what could not be seen on MRI; the damages were far deeper and much more severe. It is scary to know that my son has the same thing where now the Hospital is using mine (Radiology) in comparison with his. Just too spooky; most likely will have the exact same surgery as I have on the left shoulder. The next phase is Neurology, whereas - they are considering an option of booking my son and I together in VEEG (Video Electroencephalogram) for a few days, for they did find some of my old, old EEG's; which they are going to use that for comparison plus being hooked up on the machine to monitor the both of us and ?????? Well, at least my mother and son had indicated that was their plan; while I cannot have brain surgery - had the golden opportunity years ago, blown... However, he can - maybe. They are even more concerned to the fact that he and his wife's own child is a mirror image of myself, nearly 90% after grandma, yet, only 10% after "daddy". Sounds something out of a Stephen King Thriller, however, it is quite interesting to see all the Physicians / Specialists now teaming up with life - after years and years of degrading and demeaning me (??) ... While they know what the mitochondrial is, however, the problematic issue is - I am adopted; is what make things now complicated. Learning now that even though it is excessively rare, however, there are several types of mutants, as well as several types of variants, for added insult - there is even a maternal variants on top of it; the only way they would really know is via an autopsy. They are going to try again for the DNA/Genetic - all three of us together at the same time with all the answers and results coming back about the same time (Since the lab work goes all over the USA), that part has to wait until the child is older. Does this bother me, a little bit - but I have to keep my eyes upon the Lord, knowing that He makes all things beautiful in His Time. |
Bless your heart!
