Lower pain levels but higher in diff. spots ...

I had an appt. with our family MD who decided to put me back on the higher pain meds I was on prior to surgery. When asked if the SCS is working, I respond that its doing its job. However I have had the spasms return to where I have to undo my bra at work bc I can't handle the pressure from it. And the newest thing is next to the incision site on the right side I feel sharp hypersensitive stabbing pain and around the rib under my arm I feel the same thing. So I'm hoping this is just healing from the laminectomy. I did tell the doctor that I was going to wait another couple of months before mentioning it to my Spine Specialist bc I do NOT want to go through surgery again. I've been doing reading on Post Laminectomy Syndrome, this fits to a T what I am feeling, so again, just going to play a waiting game and try to remain positive. I'm kinda bummed, but going with the assumption that my back will never really stop hurting and this is as far as I'm willing to go.
Thanks for listening.:(

I have had my SCS laminectomy type since Aug 08 and still have issues with my back at surgery site hurting. I have never heard of Post Laminectomy Syndrome, and will look into that. Thanks for mentioning it. And of course bras are a big issue-I wear mostly stretchie type sports bras all of the time and do not get nearly as sore. Best of luck to you-Fondly-Carol

Carol, you have Thoracic issues too? OMG I've been looking to find someone who has trauma in the thoracic area and has experienced the trial by error experiences to this point of getting an SCS.
Having problems in the Thoracic region leaves many people screwed bc doctors avoid surgery in this area, thus they wouldn't even do a discectomy on me due to the risks. Its downright sucky..for a lack of better words. I will look for earlier posts from you to get further knowledge of what you've been through
Respectfully-Deidre:wink:
