hello everyone

Hi, it's Baywatcher here, now - because it was the first thing I saw when I looked up from the computer - Sunflower. I've missed all my friends and thought it was about time to jump in here and say Hello. And of course, having to register again reminded me that computers have absolutely no sense of humor! So when the form asked the question "Is the sun hot?" I said not today. Oh oh. Bang and down comes the box that tells me that I have answered incorrectly.

Although I've been waiting patiently for OBT to return, I finally realized that while sitting twiddling my thumbs there were real people out in the world who may want what the forum provides - information, help, support, even some fun. And until we build a new community those people have too few places to turn. I hope that I can offer some of all of the above. The Braintalk forum over the years has been such a source of support for me, and a way to make friends who mean a lot, bless you all. Nancy

Very posh Nancy, so sunflower now is it? :) I would have thought blossom would have been nice on a flower note, or how about Bloomin Nancy ;)

Looking forward to catching up with everyone from the old forum and the regulars of this forum.

Hi, all!

Hi, everyone,

I am JeanC in the BT forums, so thought I'd keep things simple and close to the same. I don't have TN, but had some neuropathic pain from too much dental work in too short a time. Mostly resolved now, but still get an occasional face ache from wind, cold, heat, stress, fatigue ...

I'm just back from the TNA's Sixth National Conference in Portland, OR, and want to share what I learned so will be back soon with my conference report. I met some of the other BrainTalkers out there and some friends from the Orlando conference. It was another outstanding conference. The next one is in Detroit, MI in 2008 - probably in September again (north - Sept, south - Nov) with Ken Casey (co-author of Striking Back) hosting.

Glad to see some of the old gang here and nice to meet the new ones, too, though sorry you have the face pain that brings us all here. But when I feel bad about what I've been through I try to remember the silver lining - the friends I've met on the forums.

Take care and best to you all!
Jean

Hey Jean! I was trying to find you to ask how that went (I popped in the TN chatroom while you were there looking for Ella? - I forgot whom).

Also, my doctor told me that the one pupil being bigger than the other deal was 'normal' - well, normal for me. :P

Hi Ellie,
Thank you for your warm welcome :) it's nice to be able to post again.
Hope your feeling well today, it's bright and sunny here in the UK, hope it's nice where you are too. :)

Love Tracy.

Hello Nancy, Tracy, Ella, Jean, and Crystallina. Glad to see you made it here. Lot's to catch up on ... and I expect full reports" :D

I've been busy all summer, including a couple of trips out to Long Beach, CA for my company. I've been doing a lot of writing (non-TN stuff), my family's been going through some big changes (son moved out, wife got new car), got some new people in the office, and lost 3 important web links (including BT1, all in two weeks. I guess the job and TN have been my only constants.

Hi - It's Me - Rudy's Mom

Hi Everyone! Someone told me today about this website. We've been waiting to get back on the old one, and we're so happy to find this new site and our "old" friends.

It's 4 months since my MVD and 7 months since the Gamma Knife. I've been off all my meds for a few weeks now, but the pain has returned to some degree. It's not the real terrible pain, but it's more than enough to know it's still with me. I am trying to stay off the meds and am hoping the pain is just another part of the healing process. I still have vision problems from the MVD and haven't been able to drive in 4 months. That's the worst part for me personally. I feel like I've lost all of my freedom. I had some special glasses made to help with the double vision, but they still make me sick to my stomach when I wear them. Everything is really clear with them on though. I tried driving a short way with my husband along in the van, but I need to get my confidence back before driving too much. I still get dizzy when I move fast and lose my balance yet at times. The surgeon says this is all from moving the brain around so much and should get better in about a year. Hurray!! I am doing pretty much everything I did before the surgery, except I have to be more careful and cautious. I don't regret having the surgery though. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Hope you are all doing good. I've missed you all.

Sheila
