Easter Plans?

What's everyone doing for the Easter weekend?

We usually never do much of anything. Years ago we used to go to the Sunrise Service at Stone Mountain but I haven't been to that in 9 years. Seems like it always rains that morning.

This year we'll have dinner here at my house. Both DS22 and DS26 agreed on what they'd like to have and it sounds easy enough....plus, I rarely get a chance to cook for them anymore, so I'm looking forward to it.

No Easter candy in my house this year! I've done good to avoid buying any 'cos I'd be the one who ate it. Nobody else to blame it on!! :o

What's everyone else doing?

I am going to a friend's house for dinner. My contribution is going to be a raw veg platter and dip. I wonder if this is a comment on my cooking;). I will probably go to Mass tomorrow night.

I am cooking. Trying to figure out how we are going to split the holiday with dd and my ex, and celebrating that DH2B signed out of the army today and his parents and his DD will be here.

Watching basketball Saturday. Do some pressure washing. Gotta go into work Sunday night. Got a pre-launch meeting at 0130 Monday morning with a launch at 0521.

Hey Tom, how do they determine the launch time? Why 521? why not 525 or 530?

We never did focus much on a big Easter dinner, and now even less so. I'll cook something Saturday that I can nuke after church!

When my son and daughter were kids, they each had a list of clues in the form of Bible verses. They had to look up the verse, figure out the clue, and then find the next clue, and eventually their Easter baskets.

For example, Paul's first clue might be John 6:48. He'd look it up, and the verse would be "Then Jesus declared, 'I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.'" He'd look in the bread box, and there would be the next clue.

The next clue might be John 4:10, which he'd look up and find: "Jesus answered her, 'If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.'" The next clue might be taped to the shower head or under the sink. And so on.

They had about six clues each, and we all had fun. And chocolate.

Easter Sunday was always a big deal with my Family, but they are all gone and I haven't the strength to carry it on.

DD will, most likely help kids to color eggs and her DH will probably cook a ham or something. Since I don't go anywhere, DD will most likely bring me something, when she visits.

Dear Grands will each get to pick out an easter gift from the store and Grandma will pay for it.:)

And He will rise!

Happy Easter My Friends.

Easter was always a big thing when I was still at home. After getting
married I kept the tradition on at my house. Did it for many years. As time
went on many family and friends passed on.

Now it is only my children and their spouses and me. The only problem is
that my DD is still in NJ. This year the first year in my new house I was hopeing to have the family and a few friends together, but things are not going to be that way.

My DS and DDIL are coming over and my son is going to Smoke Salmon in
the new smoker. I was hoping to make a few of our traditional dishes this year but with not still feeling that great after the flareup I had they will have
to wait until next time.

WISHING EVERYONE A HAPPY EASTER!!!!
