anyone diagnosed with something else after pd dxd?

you guys knew i couldn't be gone long.. right? heehee. i am kinda curious about something. since my pd dxd, i have had other dxd and am wondering if anyone else has. mine have been:

epilepsy
seizure disorder (non-epileptic)
anxiety disorder
multiple system atrophy... (laughable since i had already had the pd dxd over 15 years)
conversion disorder
gait disturbance

makes me ponder.. how can they search for a cure for something that hasnt even been positively diagnosed?

Welcome back Harley

I notice that a lot of your dxs are really symptoms with enough of a name tag to keep you quiet long enough to get you out of the office. They didn't know that they were dealing with a pro. :D

I've been wondering about similar questions myself relating to my self dx. In 2000 I went to neuro 2 because I was having periods when I could barely walk. Neuro 1 had said essential tremor in 1992 and I had been stable since. The flu in 1999 changed things and March 2000 I was official.

I wonder why symptoms have not changed in nature? Intensity and frequency, yes. But it is still periods of difficulty walking.

Why do these also become paralyzing at times almost on a schedule? And why does potassium frequently rescue me from these as does B-complex?

yea, well, i think we should be getting paid for all of the medical information they have been getting from us... lol

it doesnt take alot to research what our symptoms are and whether or not they fit into what these docs are dxd us with. is the medical community computer illiterate or just lazy?

I fear that they don't respect us and have no interest in what we have to say. But maybe that's just me. :D

gadzooks vicky!

so, the only thing they are sure of is that you have problems with a weak bladder? "ahem" "cough"... well, all i can say is, "p-i-s-s on em!"

vlhperry 04-06-2010 01:09 AM

No Worries

The weak bladder was fixed by sling surgery. Have you looked up the definition of Organic Disorder? I think you'll be surprised by the similarity between this and one of the disorders you have been diagnosed with.

Parkinson's Disease and more!

:grouphug:Oh boy! I feel like a snowball rolling downhill. I try to be positive, but sometimes i don't know how many more things can happen and how many more drugs I can take. I go to all these specialists and keep getting diagnosed with other conditions. Since being diagnosed with PD, I now have psoriatic arthritis, hypertension, retinal vain occlusion, carpal tunnel(had surgeryalready) osteopenia, and most recently, diabetes. I have had major depression, anxiety, and excecutive dysfunction along with tremors, dystonia, etc with the PD. 5 years ago ,I walked 2-3miles/day, was 40lbs lighter, was 52 and took 0 meds. Now I'm on so many meds and look like I'm 72. I continue to have a good attitude and have been working out for 1-2 hours/day. I am also trying to be involved in more activities. I think there is another thread about a similair subject. Excuse my spelling and other errors. We have to keep on keeping on. Cheers, Franny
