Hi Beth! Hi waves! Hi Mari and Donna! And hello to everyone else who I can't name off in this reply without going for longer then I have time to post within. Jackie is doing great this spring break, we had a nice trip to his pdoc today and I have been busy getting his new communication aids laminated and put together properly. I am so happy his speech therapist printed off EVERY new board I made! Like over twenty pages!

She's fantastic! So I am gonna have them set up by tomorrow, I need to borrow her hole punch again today to punch holes in the three extra pages I created last week which she printed up for me today! then I wil shoot some video of them and the killer Promtping board for Getting Himself Dressed which she helped me design but I put together myself with laminated cut outs and velcro she gave me, I swear I am going to miss her. :(

But other then Speech services ending at the end of the month, I haven't been walking because my arm is still throbbing mad at me. and I need to use it to get the liner on, so it's been sitting there for awhile, and while I have a rx for PT, I don't think I am ready to do it yet. Not until this throbbing goes down in intensity. :( So bummer there, also I don't think it's going to be usable for walking to dr appts or anything OUTSIDE of the house, because I don't see myself being able to drive anywhere with it. It's just a shame, but it's the way things really are. *sigh*

Anyway, I am not letting it get me down, I am really happy about these new boards I made for my son, hopefully he'll use them. :)

I pulled a muscle trying to put on the liner for the leg. I did it the day I got the leg believe it or not. I just was in denial over it being serious. However I think it is now. I think it might have been a tendon I pulled actually because it still hurts even a month later. :(

Pammie

I'm going to order you to get yourself to PT if you have that order.
The reason is that they can help you figure out how to get the throbing
down to a reasonable amount. I know this because they have more
than once for me.

Please get yourself there.
I hope it gets better soon.:grouphug:

Dear Pam

I'm sorry to hear about your arm... what terrible timing.

One thing at a time, get the arm sorted... and then deal with what you can and can't do with the leg.

I agree with Donna to go to PT asap.

tell them what has been going on since you saw the doc. if it is too inflamed to do PT they will know how to advise you on what to do next.

i am afraid that if you keep sitting on it (not literally) not only will it not improve, but could get worse. :o we wouldn't want that!

other than that, it is nice to hear that Jackie is doing so well and wowww, good work on his communication boards!!! :D you've done tons!

yes go to pt and see that they can help you with your arm, they will need new orders but they can call for those to treat your arm...you need different orders for different reasons.
I am voting with the others GO TO PT!

I will get in there for some PT soon. I have just had a tooth yanked and don't feel up to it yet. Still not walking either. Kinda depressed these days. Oh well, it will pass. Hope you all have an awesome weekend.

Pam
Having a tooth yanked would depress anyone.

So just take it easy for a little while.

Donna
