I have a $50
 

gift certificate for a local HFS. I have to use it all at once, no money back. I don't buy ready made stuff and get my flours cheaper elsewhere. So, what's good? Any suggestions for GF snacks I can get there? Pretzels? Maybe flour mixes I can give to my mom for GF pancakes when the girls stay there. I know they have Gluten Free Pantry, Pamela's and Namaste mixes. Not sure what else. I know some Tinkyada pasta is on my list as is DariFree. Thanks.

Hmmm...Well, it probably depends on what you like!

Cereals? Envirokidz, NuWorld, Erewhon.

Snacks? Larabars, Edward and Sons rice crackers, Maybe Annie's GF mac and cheese?

Are you wanting to be practical...or frivolous? You could buy some really good chocolate ;) Produce. Just b/c you can get stuff elsewhere doesn't mean you shouldn't buy it there, yk? Its a gift card..."free money" almost.

We are dairy free too. Yeah, a good chocolate bar is on my list. Most of what I can buy there I can't get elsewhere but the flours. So, I want to get stuff I ordinarily don't cause of price. Price is why I cook from scratch.

I'd definitely vote for gf pretzels, and if they carry Scharr breadsticks.

The EnerG crackers and pretzels are good? We do not like the nut thins much. They are very salty. I do not remember seeing Scharr's in the past but I have been hurried and not really looked at stuff, only gotten what I needed. They are the only place around that sells DariFree. Tinkyada is definitely on the list. I wish I could trade my spaghetti noodles for elbows. I have over 1/2 a case of spaghetti left and no one wants to eat it as spaghetti. The girls will with nutritional yeast and peas.

Keep ideas coming. I think I may go next week. I definitely want to go alone.

Hey...what about waffles? Vans are supposed to be gluten free/dairy free (at least some varieties) My kids like them (and they're only low gluten...youngest gets tested next summer, yay!) Chreese? (Its from nutritional yeast)

We do like the EnerG brand pretzels, better than others we have tried (my daughter likes to dip them in mustard). The crackers are good, but they break pretty easily. I keep them on hand though, and if I am ever out of bread for my daughter's school lunches I can always send some crackers and deli meat. SHe likes the EnerG and Scharr crackers better than Nut Thins. My husband and I really like the Hazelnut and Almond Nut Thins (crunch, crunch..and yes, salty)...but my daughter won't eat them.
