Playing the wait game again.

Although more optimistic this time since I am just waiting on computations! I originally applied for SSI in 2006. But apparently I worked enough to get social security disability. Which I was unaware of but got approved for. I am only 24 so I didn't think I ever worked enough.

I also got a bench decision. Although this was my second time going before the ALJ with an onset date of Sept 2005! I am assuming that it's taking so long since they said a different office other than the local one is processing the disability part and they said if it's less then 600 I should be able to get ssi. Which I am sure it is, as I didn't work that much.

My hearing was March 10, 2010. My Fully Favorable Decision dated March 26. My SSI interview to go over resources and all that was today April 9. But won't be processed until Tuesday at the earliest. So just playing the waiting game.. Which I am used to. Turned in my account number for direct deposit! So Just wait-wait-wait! Thought I would share. There is hope out there!

Your so young, I hope it's not to serious. I hope you can overcome whatever it is and live a full and productive life.

Congratulations, Marie! It sounds like you've been waiting a long time!

It's my understanding that if you receive SSDI and SSI that you will begin receiving the SSI payments quickly, but SDDI back pay and monthly checks will take a little extra time to process.

Once your local office determines you are eligible for both, they process the SSI claim, and then send your case to a payment processing center (regional or national).

I hope you're wait is short. I'm just getting SSDI- I haven't heard anything about monthly checks yet, but I got my back pay super-quick!

I been trying to reply but I been having computer troubles. I have MG-Myasthenia Gravis since I was 3. It got severe at 18. I had a thymectomy at a young age. It's been a long process. I have dyplopia and ptsois or whatever of both eyes. On various ever changing medicines. It doesn't change alot but you have to take em a long time before you notice if it works or not. Like I said It's been long. I am waiting on three eye surgerys since 2006.. Still waiting. Nothing new! But I am a good candidate for it whenever that time comes.
