spasticity medicine - zanaflex, baclofen etc
i have awful stiffness - hardly move my legs. i was trying to use baclofen, zanaflex, vallum etc. i'm so confused with result. now i take zanaflex - 2mg
3 times a day and i feel after taking it i drag my legs even more. i'm so confused. what could it be - weakness of legs? i take too small dose? or anything else. same result with baclofen. |
I've taken all those meds in the past and quit them, because of side effects. Spasticity is a part of MS, in one degree or another. My spasticity is ever present, but nothing, with which I can't cope.
I find stretching often, as needed. through the day, helps to keep mine under control. LDN seems to help, as well. If your spasticity is really bad, as some of us have, then, you may have to endure a few side effects, in order to calm it down. Another alternative, would be the Baclofin Pump, which sends the med to the proper spot and, thus, no foggy, sicky side effects. I hope you find relief soon.. |
I was on baclofen, which really didn't seem to reduce my spasms all that well.
When I began seein my present neuro, he took me off of it and gave me zanaflex, but in capsule form. The tablets didn't work as well as the capsules do. I also recommend stretching throughout the day...go on the NMSS website; they have a section on stretches for MS patients that is very helpful... |
