Referral- Any suggestions
Pretty much unhappy with my neuro (sounds familiar, huh). My PC said he would like to refer me to Mayo or Cleveland Clinic for mixed axonal & demyelinating peripheral polyneuropathy. Can anyone share info and /or experiences about either place? Thanks as always for your guidance.

I go to Johns Hopkins & am extremely pleased with them.
There have been mixed emotions and quite a few negatives regarding Mayo Clinics. They seem to be persnikkety about who they will treat, and don't test across the spectrum. (See www.lizajane.org for a complete list of tests for PN.) Cleveland Clinic has a fairly good reputation. There is, also Cornell-Weill & The Jack Miller Center - to think about. Both are exemplary in treating for PN. |

I had very good care/diagnosis at Hopkins years ago for a weird problem - SMA syndrome - that was undiagnosed and caused years of suffering and severe weight loss. I saw a GI doctor at that time. The condition is extremely rare, but he had it figured out after they did an enteroclysis (where radiocontrast is infused through a tube inserted through the nose to the duodenum). Lovely test , but it made the problem apparent and I was able to have it resolved surgically. So sorry about my poor writing. I think the neurontin is degrading my intellect. Mere |
I think maybe the Cymbalta is degrading my intellect...I thought your writing was fine.:winky:
