Went to a new Foot Doctor today!

Wow, I am so glad I switched. I really wondered if I was getting what I needed when it kept coming back. So when I talked to my Nurse Practioneer I explained the problems. And even the fact that the other one wouldn't
even talk about the wart that wouldn't go away. I wanted him to help me treat it. He wouldn't.

I now have 14 warts. Most on one foot. But its not going to be easy to get rid of them. But this doctor sold me some medicine. And I'll use it. But I forgot to buy the emery board. So I have to wait till tomorrow to start.

I also found out that I have poor circulation or blood in one of my feet. And I have high arches. I have plantars Facitus again. But it seems to be a different form this time.

He did xrays of my feet. I honestly can't tell you what kind.
He put my left foot in a night splint because its the worst. And will put my right one in one too if the left one does good in one. He has put my feet
in criss cross elastic bands. To help with the pain. And man I spent the
rest of the day in less pain. My left foot felt so nice.

I go back in Two or three weeks and will learn about my xrays. And will
be fit for orthopedics I believe is what they are called.
I'm supposed to call and make sure they are covered by my insurance.
But I know that I need them, so I will just make sure I have the $ 350.00
dollars. And I will finally have relieve for my feet and ankles. And I'm hoping
it will also help my legs.

Thanks for reading this.

Dear Donna,

That doc took good care of you!
He did quite a thorough job.

Perhaps he is looking for heel spurs.

The night splints are supposed to help. That would be good.

Many years ago I went to a podiatrist who wrapped my feet. It was amazing. The wraps lasted about two days before they loosened and started falling off. I went into the office in pain. I came out of the office feeling amazing.

I'm curious about the warts.
I know someone who got his warts frozen off.
Why can't your doc freeze the warts?

My feet problems mostly went away when I started buying and wearing Birkenstock's. And I wear sneakers with a lot of arc support (can't remember the brand name right now.)

that sounds great, Donna

well... not great that you have a lot going on with your poor feet! :(

but that new doc sounds great!

i hope the wart treatment works, Donna, and that the pain continues to lessen.

Yes they often give orthotics for plantar fascitis. that's crazy that your previous foot doc did not dx that! it's not an uncommon condition. anyway, now this guy is taking good care of you ... yay! :)

i bet having improvement in your feet will also help your legs. maybe not completely - it depends on what the problem is with your legs. but i bet it will help some. when our feet are hurting, we don't walk quite right, even if we try, and it strains everywhere else - legs, back, you name it!

keep us posted on how you're doing. :)

Yes that is right he is looking to see if there are heel spurs starting.

And Waves the weird thing is I went in the first time with a thought
and was diagnosed with plantars fastitus. The first doctor thought
it was more important to have someone else do the work.

So he sent me to PT and had them make the ORthopedics. Which
were good. But I need new ones. But now I need more extensive
or better made ones. Even my PT said, I needed these cast made
ones.

When it comes to the warts I believe its because there are so
many. And lots are very small, and very hard to even see. So he
thinks we should try this first. See if we can get them.

I am not sure, but I also have a feeling they may try the antibiotic
next.

Dear Donna,
I am sorry you are having such problems with your feet.
I am glad that you have a new doctor that you like and is paying attention to your issues.
14 warts is alot and will be very hard to treat even when they freeze them sometimes they have to repeat the treatments ...I have heard of people using duct tape over a wart and leaving it there...presumably to cut off the air supply to the wart and maybe that kills the wart? maybe jsut an old wives tale????

Ugh, Bone Density Test results

Okay, I now am just a stone throw away from full blown OA.

So now I am getting ready to start Fosamax. And am already on
calcium and Vitamin D. And am getting a list of exercises for
weight bearing. So I can start those.

Ugh just another thing to start.

Dear Donna,
Fosamax is a little bit scary. I think docs overprescribe it -- but I should probably keep quiet since I don't know more than your docs. Apologies but I am posting anyway. Check with pharmacist about possible interaction with current drugs you are on.

Magnesium helps with bones too. ( I take magnesium citrate every night.)

Calcium from plants sources helps:
-Blackstrap molasses 2 Tbsp 400
-Collard greens, cooked 1 cup 357
--Turnip greens, cooked 1 cup 249
-Kale, cooked 1 cup 179
-Soybeans, cooked 1 cup 175
-Okra, cooked 1 cup 172
-Bok choy, cooked 1 cup 158
-Mustard greens, cooked 1 cup 152
-Tahini 2 Tbsp 128
-Broccoli, cooked 1 cup 94
-Almonds 1/4 cup 89
-Almond butter 2 Tbsp 86

Weight bearing exercises from this site include:
http://www.webmd.com/osteoporosis/li...weight-bearing
-Tai Chi
-Yoga
-Brisk Walking
-Golf
-Dancing http://bestsmileys.com/dancing/7.gif
-Hiking

Here is the good news from that same site:
One final tip: Be patient. The bone-building phase in young adults -- at its speediest -- takes three to four months, and it may take a lot longer if you have osteoporosis or are older.
So you won't be seeing big changes on any bone density tests after your first week of working out.
Bones change slowly -- but they do change.

Dmom3005 04-18-2010 09:01 PM

Yes I have used all the things that you can buy in the store.
And honestly this was not any more expensive than that.

I just hope it works. We had a major water problem yesterday.
Or washer did something and we had a back up and mess in
the basement too.

I could not use the wart medicine as much today as I would have
liked too. But I will be again. I just need to work on it.

Its called I needed the water back on.
It wasn't a bad weekend. So it was nice and cool here.

Please hope I can get Derrick in the neuro early please.
