hi everybody
oh my it has been a long time! I have missed this board so much. I have a question for you all... I have had a lot of stress (found out my husband is going to be going over to Afghanistan) and since this has come about I have been having really bad stabbing/burning pain in my abdomen. It comes and goes. Never last more then a few hrs. It is not started by anything and it will just go away on its own. How worried should I be?

Hi I am sorry you are feeling so stressed. I hope your husband stays safe. Well for me I try to not jump in my mind to an RSD spread with a sign of a new pain. Obviously this easier said then done. I also get fearful I will brush something off as rsd pain but it be something else. So depending what you feel this may be could you call your doc and see if he or she should see you? I know for me that the stress in life makes it harder for me to cope with the physical pain. Also I am more tense, sleep less, ect and that makes the pain worse. I am sorry I am not offer much help. I hope you feel better

I try not to make that jump as well. I am just perplexed by this. But we will see. I did not have it the last 2 days, so I am hoping it has gone away. I am thinking it might hae been one of those weird stress things.

you may be astounded at what STRESS can do to your body! RSD Adds to it, with multiplicity (if I'm saying that right). It would be wise to check with your doctor. I'm a master plumber, and was putting a new bathroom in for my doc, (at the time) and was newly married to a VERY needy woman. He got to know me, and put me on Valium. That was when I was in my mid 20's. I've been divorced twice since then, and since I'm not married, I'm finally able to come down from the valium. Not to blame anyone else, but, the stress of loving someone, especially a very demanding person, or somehow our needs and greeds don't exactly fit, Your Nerves will take it out on you! Please, consult your doc!? You obviously love your husband, and are concerned. There's no reason to be sick, and get an ulcer over it though... If you did, you'd be no good for yourself, or for him! Take care of yourself first! Then, you'll be good for others! Hope you're well! pete asb |

RSD and stress go hand in hand..It's like chocolate for the soul..Please try to keep everything in perspective..think positive and try to relax..your RSD needs that... I hope your husband has a safe travel, and duty over and back...Keep us posted!!:grouphug: Kathy |
thank you all for your thoughts. I am trying to keep the stress down, and I am feeling a lot better. I started back on some of the meds I was on before I got pregnant. They seem to be helping a lot.
