post concussion syndrome.....help!?
 

third concussion in 2 yrs....no brain swelling anymore just pain..any tips. thanxdoug

Have you been checked by a doc? Just to be sure nothing more serious is go on.
How do you manage to have 3 concussions in 2 years?
sports, car accidents? rodeo bull riding - I hear they get many concussions.
I went off my horse at age 15 and was "out" for a couple minutes - never really had any problems until age 40 - and it showed up as damage in my c spine. Plus I learn later about the C1/C2 and how they can be knocked out of alignment- alters your whole body.

Rest is the best recovery technique.
Ice if there is external swelling or "goose egg".

thank you for the links jo55. 2yrs ago i suffered 2 concussions in the same football season. both called mild. 2 mos. ago i got hurt at work. 29 foot fall at a construction site. diagnosis: grade3 concussion ,closed head, no internal bleeding, but swelling of the brain. yesterday i recieved thje results of my last ct scan and they showed the swelling had returned to a "pre injury state". i have heard a lot about pcs and some say it is real and some say it is bunk and argue that it is phycological not physiological.

my concren is that i was still having headaches from the first 2 when i had my last one. my neruro guy up here says my headaches preinjury are likely unrelated to the first 2 and will not factor in to this one.

the more i read the more i become skeptical of this diagnosis.
so here i am ....i want to know more. i need to know more. i am likely not yet having pcs because it has only been 2 mo but knowledge is everything.

If you consider it - finding a good chiro {expert, experienced, gentle} just get an evaluation appt to get an opinion?? and see what they say.
{take scans and xrays with you if you have them}

Hits and falls like that can really knock you out of alignment and cause many symptoms that over time will show up more.

MD's just really don't study in depth on it - unless a major dislocation or break. A millimeter {or less } one way or another can cause problems.
As you age the symptoms and after affects will show up more.

the work fall must be work comp? we have a workers comp forum also.
