Medco and Nuvigil or Lexapro

I'm trying to get approved for Nuvigil with Medco. I've used it for about six months for fatigue, then switched insurance and now they are fighting it.

Same with Lexapro, the assistant at my neuro's office said they like to deny that one too.

Have any of you been approved for either of these when using Medco on a PPO plan?

You probably just need your Doctor to send them a request for it, kind of the way they do things.

They are doing that but they don't sound too hopeful about it getting approved. I hope it will but who knows? I was on a different plan for more than 20 years and while expensive, they approved everything...

My HMO routinely turns down insurance requests. All it seems to take is a fax with an explanation from the doctor and they will then approve the prescription.

We've already done that with the Nuvigil and hopefully the next fax will get the meds approved.

I'm calling them everyday (neuro's office too.) So hopefully I can get these approved. My next step will be to call the state insurance commission.
