So i hit an FBI agent on the way home.

UGH! You ever want to kick yourself? I thought I was doing the smart thing by not waiting until the last minute to get a Mother's Day gift. Today I picked up mom's present. Then it dawned on me while I was waiting for DD to get out of school that I forgot to get a card and I didn't get anything from DD. No problem, me and DD headed out when she got home in search of the perfect gift and some cards.

So i am leaving the store in 5:00 traffic and trying to pull onto the 5 lane road that runs through town. The light turns red, cars start lining up when the man in the big conversion van stops and gives me the go ahead to get in front of him. This would have been nice.... EXCEPT for the FBI agent that was behind the van deciding to go on and take a right, which means pulling into the turning lane at the exact moment that I was pulling out of the parking lot.

Fortunately no one was hurt and the air bags didn't deploy, she had a big dent in her fender and I have a BIG hole in mine, cracked my bumber all to heck, broke a marker light, peeled the corner of my hood up and messed up my headlight, and my fender cover thing is dragging on my tire. Get home and discover that my front license plate flew off too. And the cop who witnessed it decided I was at fault, but didn't file a report or issue a ticket.

And I was so looking forward to my insurance going down next month when the policy renews since the speeding ticket I got 5 years ago has finally come off my record. Now this!

PS-> I love Saturns, but the whole front of the darn things are made of plastic! Trying to find the parts to fix it ourselves because if I file the claim with ins, they will total it.

And my mom called while we were talking to the cop to see if I wanted to take a trip to the beach this weekend in lieu of presents.

Yep. This qualifies as a contender for "The Worst Day Ever". (((leggs)))..Hope tomorrow's better!

wow... if it weren't for bad luck you wouldn't have any luck!

Maybe you should just gift wrap some of the "plastic" and give it to your mother - to show what you went thru to memorialize Mother's Day LOL

LOL yeah this counts as the worst Mother's Day ever. Also the most expensive, I have never spent this much money on my mom before. LOL

The good news is, DH2B is the greatest guy ever who was up until 3 AM working on my car. See he's really good with fixing things and he really likes playing with fiberglass. And he did an awesome job of filling and fixing the hole in my fender...Don't know how he did it, it was huge. He also fixed the hole in the bumper and sanded out all of the scratches. And he managed to fix my headlight, and he painted it all.

The only thing left to do is replace the marker light, and do something with the clearcoat. (He told me but it was 3AM and I was asleep). The only signs that it was in an accident aside from the side light is that the pinstripes are gone where he painted, and the hood isn't lined up properly which isn't a big deal, I can get my mechanic friend to fix that next time I go to Richmond.

All in all he saved me about 3 grand in repairs. So today we love him bunches.

At first in my MS reading way, I read you hit on an agent. I got in an accident the same way. Someone smiled and waved me out of a lot to turn left. Of course guy passing him in left lane didn't expect me. Whoops. He had his pregnant girlfriend with green hair with him. I had DS.

Bummer dude, but the bright side is no ticket and no report. In these here parts, the person who waved you in can also get a ticket for directing traffic. Hey, if you're going to ram someone, I say do it right. ;)

Gotta go call a friend of mine, she's a fed and I'd love to know if she got hit yesterday...

I actually felt bad for the lady. She had spent the last 2+ hours sitting in traffic trying to get home from Quantico and here she made it 3 miles from her house and BOOM! I know that horrendous drive from Quantico. DH2B had to make that drive from DC everyday and on average it took him 3 hours to get home, but only an hour to get there.

no advice, just hugs! that sucks!

My son got hit from behind while he was in his police car (this was several years ago). Some lady had stopped at Krispy Kreme to get donuts for a meeting at work and was distracted and bumped into the back of him at a light. Didn't damage either car.....but it was funny because she offered him a donut while they were stopped!! Hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do........

Well, it seems I may be out of luck here. Just got off the phone with ins co. They informed me the other car was a 99 Corolla. Which of course seeing as it is 11 yrs old.... it will most likely be totalled.

And the even more fun news of the day? Had physical Therapy today and it seems I may have messed my back up even worse and I somehow jammed my hip/pelvis on the left side. So we did some weird stretch thing that involved 2 other people and it popped back into place and now my everything hurts. He yelled at me for not going to ER. I didn't really see the point. They would have kept me there for 4 hours, charged me a $100 co-pay and sent me home with a prescription of percocet that I can't take. No thanks.
