Intense headaches post-surgery

I'm curious if anyone here who's had the temporal lobe re-section, has ever experienced headaches like those suffered after the surgery?

On Tuesday, swimming in the pool, all of the sudden, one hit me like lightening. Intense, sharp piercing pain behind my right eye (at the core) and on my left temple. Same spots that I had those hellish headaches after surgery ~ and no pain mendication worked at that time.

The pain lasted for a couple of hours, gradually decreasing in intensity. The most intense time was in the first minute or two. Just like post-surgery!! 3/06 was surgery, 3/07 was when TBI occurred.

Has anyone else had this happen years after surgery??

Hi Shez,
I had right temporal lobe surgery done in 1994 and then I started to get wicked headaches just like the ones after the surgery 2 yrs. ago. The headache would be on the same area where they did the surgery and also above my right eye. I spoke with both my neuro and neurosurgeon about this and I found out that to many cells were beginning to grow and spread across the right temporal lobe to the frontal lobe and left temporal lobe. I just had a veeg done in the beginning of this April and that's how they found to many cells growing and they are keeping watch on the cells to make sure I don't have a tumor. Take note of what time you get these headaches, if there's a low pressure in the weather, and also try putting a cold washcloth on your face and the back of your neck this helps calm the neurons down in the brain and stop the headaches. You should also call your neuro and let them know what's going on if you haven't spoken with them yet. I wish you only the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Thank you very much Sue!

I don't know if the barometric pressure was low (or high), we did have something going on though. Real dark skies & very humid ~ a thunderstorm just waiting to strike for hours. I'll have to look into barometric pressure.

I do see my epileptologist next week. He told his nurse to tell me to go to ER if/when it happens again (if it occurs before the appointment). I'll be sure to describe my experience well to him. And I'm taking a helper with me, to be sure everything is covered & his instructions are written down.

Hi Shez,
Write down any questions you might have for the Epileptologist and as I mentioned keep track of any headaches. Also if I may ask do you use a cell phone? The reason why I'm asking this is because it has been proven that cell phones can cause sz. as well as brain tumors even if your texting because of the frequency you are in it's the same frequency as a microwave and it can mess up the human brain. I've been strictly told to stay away from cell phone by my Epileptologist. I wish you only the best of luck and May God Bless You!
