Footwear

My sister went to buy some M.B.T shoes today and the assistant said that they were not only good for backache but for people who have Parkinson's.She did not know that my sister was related to a PWP and it was a throw away comment..Has anybody had any experience with these shoes?

New to me.

I just looked up the MBT shoes. I can see why they would be good for us. The most difficult places of all to walk for many of us is on a perfectly level and smooth expanse. Steps, uneven paths, bumps and rough surfaces keep us going. But - the MBT shoes are very expensive - and quite lumpy!
They would look fine on men.

Shoes in general

What does MBT stand for and why are they "lumpy"? The shoes I like best are my little summer Keds. They are light, have a semi stretchy canvas top and don't catch on things when I'm walking. They are secure on my feet and the next best thing to bare feet....oh ya -and their cheap! I used to love flip flops but this last year I found them a lot of work to walk in.

Big soles.

If you google MBT shoes you will see what I mean, Rosebud. I'd never seen them before either. I live in Birkenstocks, not very elegant, but I've got PD toes, so what can you do........ I'd probably be really comfortable in a pair of MBTs.

shoes

Hubby has real problems with shoes and parky toes as well, took a while to talk him into them due to the strange looks but he can wear Crocs for hours dont kn ow if there similar as I cant seem to find the others but dr.s and nuurses all wear them here in canada and they make a huge difference plus pretty cheap for shoes (actually a sandal type of thing) :grouphug:

Crocks

Wow, Crocks are cheap! I'm going to try them on and see if I can walk in them. They sound amazingly comfortable. When I've seen them on people I've always assumed they were made of rubber. They're fun. I've yet to find a shoe that doesn't hurt my toes.

crocs

One thing i should have mentioned is there is huuuuuuuuuuuuuge difference between real crocs and knock offs they have a patent that allows them to put certain amounts of rubber and other stuff that other companies have tried to copy we tried on some called craps (honest i didnt make that up lol) creeps and i cant remember them all but they are not I repeat not the same I know i sound like a sales rep for these people lol but i bought a pair of knockoffs for myself and than went back and got the real ones the difference is walking on air or walking on hard plastic so remember not to let sales people tell you there the same I did and it cost me 2 pairs of shoes. Buy the way we wear them around the house and if we got out we wear boots (we got snow here lol) and then change them when we get inside they really are good :grouphug:
