Confused about using forum

Help!
I have been reading the forum for years but could not ever participate due to multiple confusion with passwords, new e mail accounts, etc. Now I am thrilled to be able to join this new forum and finally particpate. However, I don't know how to go about starting a new post or using a thread (not sure what this is). This is the only way I figured out how I could get someone to help me out. Could someone explain all this to me and how to participate in creating a new post, replying, using threads, etc.
Thanks so much. I get so much out of this forum. I have FM, RSD, and Meralgia Paresthetica. Also, there is another list of options I am confused about on the bottom of this page. thre are multiple options under the heading Thread Subscription. What is this all about. I don;t understand the options. I guess because I;m not sure of this thread. Will this even reach anyone? Also, under the Posting Rules - my screen includes: you may post new threads, replies, attachments, edit posts. But it doesn't say I may create a new post. Obviously you can see I/m confused. Help!

hi Sydney

well you managed to make a new thread {new post= same thing} just fine.

If you are reading a thread or post and want to reply there is a "reply" button above and below on the left side.

there's also quick reply and quote buttons in the lower right of each post.

the stuff at the bottom just means if you are logged in or not- what you can or can't do.

In the blue bar up towards the top on all the pages is User CP {user control panel}
that's where you can go to change your personal info, settings, how the forums are displayed on your computer, add a avatar ect.

Feel free to just try and explore= you won't break anything.

If you have any other or specific questions there is a computer forum near the top on the main page.
plenty of help there

here's the link for it

Hi Sydney and Welcome! I haven't posted here on the new forum yet, but used to on BT1. Sorry you have this miserable fibro, but this is a good place to be for support, information, etc. Besides fibro I also have MS.

Take care.....Judy -- aka msproperlady

Looks like you're doing a fine job of posting. Don't be afraid to try everything out!
