Slow Cooker

Hi All,

Does anyone here have a slow cooker, my daughter brought herself one as a Mother's Day present (she is a single mum and lives with my husband and myself). We have never eaten so well and is so quick and easy. you just chop up the veges add meat and liquid and you watch it cook for the next 8 hours, how easy is that.:Starvin:

If any one has any receipes we can try that would be great.:Dancing-Chilli:

Hi Lesley
We usually put pork chops/fillets in with all fat chopped off and add a tin of condensed mushroom or chicken soup - leave all day and it is delicious with potatoes or rice. i have also replaced the pork with chicken and it is sooo tender and succulent.
This is an easy recipe for a working mum.

I love mine too and it gets used frequently; mostly for casseroles but occassionally for desserts as well.

Not only is the slow cooker easy and convenient ... you put everything in together in the morning and by dinner time it's ready to serve .... but it can work out to be economical as well. Slow cooking allows you to buy the cheaper but tougher cuts of meat, and they'll tenderise slowly in your cooker.

Here's a thread I started a while back which has some recipes throughout :

.... and here's another that Lara posted :

In our house the slow cooker is one of our most valued appliances. We added one to our daughter's gifts last Christmas, and she's raving about her's as well.

Type slow cooked recipes in your browser and you should get heaps to choose from.

Happy slow cooking.

Dont know if they still have it in print but Betty Crocker has a slow cooker cookbook... great recipes in it. Have had mine since about 4-5 years after I got my first "Rival" brand cooker LOL back in the days when the crock did not come out.
