need explaination

Why some of us have more pains at night while the other - have it during the day?

My pains worsen when I'm tired. Taking a rest - helping them alot.

Can you please explain it?

thanks

Well for me night is my worst and aka why I can't sleep. My doctor was telling me about something in the body for some that actually increases pain at night but who knows. What I feel with this condition and why it is so hard to get proper pain control is that we are all so different in how we respond. A med that may help me may not you. For some they have different times of day that is better or even different types of activity that helps or hurt. I am sorry I don't have an answer. I am glad you see taking a rest helps you. For me pacing myself is important. Also finding a good balance between not too much activity and not too little.

And you must keep a sense of humor to see the absurdity in life.
even with your docs and family.
For instance:
"........For me pacing myself is important........"

(Be sure you don't wear a hole in your rug
with all that back & forth pacing :winky::cool::wink::D
OH, Cisco.....Oh, Pancho !!)

That is something I find to be more important than anything else in dealing with any type of chronic pain. Ya gotta know your limits!!!!!!

My pain is always worse at night.

I don't understand this either. I can wake up and have no pain at certain times, but at other times my feet may start up again.

It has been alot better with the warmer weather this year.

I am having more trouble with my left ankle, tho. That seems to be my challenge now. It swells during the day, just enough to feel tight and any pressure on it in bed seems to flare it up.
So I have a soft pillow to put it on if I lie on my side. I've had a magnet on it for over a week now, right over the back part where that medial nerve curves around. This is my surgical foot, and the one with the toxic spider bite from several years ago. It is also the place where the stupid foot doctor (I don't go to him anymore!) stuck a needle to numb my ankle pain from the spider bite.

Yes, I find this to be especially true. If I overdo it one day, I will pay for three days. Conservation of energy. I know this, but I still have not quite mastered it.

My best time....

My best time is when I first get up in the morning, provided that I have had a good nights sleep. I can usually get through my day without too much trouble. About 4pm, lookout! The burning of the hands starts, the feet have to come out of the shoes, the zapping pains start, as tho you are being snapped by a rubberband.:yikes: Maybe the answer for me is to sleep 24/7.
Not sure how the bills would get paid though???

Hope the weather is nice this holiday weekend and that everyone is able to enjoy some quality time with "those you love and those that love you!!" :Starvin: Bring on those picnics and all of the good food!!

Mere, I don't know if any of us ever will master it!!!!!!!! We tend to get involved in what we are doing, be it kids, gardens, cleaning, whatever; and all of a sudden, "ooopsies", there it went

I seem to be fine while I am doing things, like walking, cleaning etc, it is after I stop that I feel the pain and it can get days to get over it.

Resting and Bedtime...

That's when my pain attacks the most...It must "go with the territory".

Perhaps we can ignore the pain more while we're busy and occupied with something pleasant. I know that is the only way I can get my chores & yardwork done.

The blessing comes when you have a GOOD day (or morning), then I always seem to go 'overboard"! Next comes the misery for being so foolish.

Wishing CURES for EVERYONE in the near future.
