Cysts: I am lumpy!

Maybe it's just normal and I missed the memo, but I have always had a problem with cysts they show up everywhere! My breasts, my groin area, my neck, back, etc. I had several surgically removed and then finally decided to keep them. If I have them removed, they come right back - sometimes they bring friends.

My doctor always brushed it off like it's normal, so I decided to just leave them alone as long as they do me no harm. However, I have one that moves from the left side of my neck (towards the back) and around to my chin area (under it). The issue is that, well, I have to look up and down sometimes :) and when I look down, it kind of hurts because this 'thing' is poking me.

My PT told me to bring it up to my Immunologist and he said maybe I have some autoimmune defect or something (I have a very bad short term memory, so I forgot what he said to be honest).

Am I just weird? Like, is this normal for women or even men?

If they are harmless, I'd prefer to keep them. The ones removed from my right breast resulted in 1) My breast shrinking 2) I have a big dent in it 3) It's deformed :(.

I will admit though, sometimes I try to see how far I can move this one around. I know it's gross and probably a bad idea but when it's in a bad spot, I try to move it. Some won't move and are solid - some feel to not be solid. They are all marble sized.

I'm gross!! Hehehe.

((((Ellie))))

Have you seen a dermatologist? They might have a good idea of why you get them and why they are different and how you might be able to prevent them "bringing friends" (yikes!).

It does sound like it might be an auto immune response though. What about your vitamin levels...maybe this is a response to a deficiency?

Gross? I doubt it! Bet my nose and facial hairs could give your cysts a run for their money. I forgot to mention I now am getting so much hair on my neck that it's like a mane if I don't keep it trimmed. Oh, and I'm losing my eyebrows too. Go figure.

*Hugs*

My Immunologist is a Dermatologist...or something. I am new to this guy and to that term, so I am still unsure as to what he does. Hah!

I had originally gone to him per my Neurologists request. Prior to my 'perma-hives' I would get hives before or after a seizure (don't ask; I have no clue why. My mom says I'm special!). Since my last large drop-seizure in May, my hives decided they are here to stay.

When I finally remembered to tell him about the cysts, he said it may be the auto-immune something or another. I had the bloodwork done today, so I'll update you if I hear anything or if it has a name, reason, etc.

Sometimes I feel like a kid, my partner will get on my case about it. I'm always joking around, so I will say something like 'Touch my hootie lump' and he yells at me telling me to stop fooling with it before I hurt myself. :o

His mother and father were both doctors, and his father passed away from Cancer (that he had overlooked for a while) - so he stays on my case about everything, in a way I like it, just shows he loves me and wouldn't want to lose me.

Well, that and he would starve to death, have no clean clothes and a dirty house without me! :D

Hi
Our dog has a odd fatty type of lump on her chest/breastbone area. The vet said it may harden at some point and need to be removed then.
{not comparing you with my dog at all - but she is cute - too}

How many docs have you seen about those lumps?

If they can't find anything - maybe a very good naturopath/homeopath?
they can help to balance the natural chemistry of the body.
trekker- i had to laugh when i read your mention of the hairs problem - my hubby teases me about shaving them { but I just pluck em so far!}

I dont think this is the same thing as you have but for fibrocystic breast lumps my doctor told me to stop drinking caffiene. It worked in just one month.

Have you Ever Been Tested

Hi,

Have you ever been tested for neurofibromatosis. I do not have it but I know someone who does. But I am no doctor.

Yea, I know all about cysts. I wrestle with them almost constantly. The first one I got about 10 years ago almost between my breasts but more towards the left one. I felt it getting bigger. Doc said "Put heat on it" so I did and for months and nothing changed it just got bigger. FINALLY I decided to try to open it and get out whatever was in there. I used a sterile needle and poked a hole right where it was the hardest then wrapped both index fingers with Kleenex and pressed down on it firmly. It squirted pus initially for the first few tries then it turned to a bloody fluid. It took me doing this once a day for a few months for me to completely get it cleaned out but it IS gone now. All I have is the tiny hole I repeatedly opened. The final few tries were quite "Aromatic" YUCK!!! :eek: But it's gone now.

I also have problem acne, I usually have between 2 and 5 WOWSERS going on Somewhere. Not so much now on my face but more on my chest, neck and upper back. I do the same with these, open them and squeeze once a day. I keep them clean but I can't stand the pressure that builds up inside, it burns and itches horribly. I get ALOT of bloody fluid out of these. I have Clindamycin for it but after taking that for 2 days I get horrble diarrhea with cramping and have to stop. Dermatoligist can't really help me either, I've been twice about it. She just says use a lot of NeoSprorin, which I do. :(
