Nopalea juice- saw a commercial the other day
Thoughts on the ingredients?
Anyone tried it? It looks like there is so many other ingredients included in it - I wonder if you really get much benefit from the nopal part of it??? And if it only comes from the Sonora desert's Nopal cactus - what if they over harvest?? limited resources for harvesting it seems... It seems to sound a lot like the Goji juice thing.... I haven't tried it. Looks like "everything" is in it tho!
One has to wonder, how much of each thing...probably not much. Food supplements tend to be low in content, and the expectation is that you will consume alot of it and therefore receive better amounts of antioxidants, etc. I do think there is quite a bit of "natural" sugars in it...probably fructose. The calorie content would reveal this more clearly. So keep in mind if you are watching sugar, that this drink may sneak them in that way. For those intolerant of fructose, this drink should be avoided. New stats are that 1 in 3 of us has some fructose intolerance, at least the GI kind. Also if you have suspected Candida in the GI tract, I would avoid this supplement, as the sugars will flare it. Antioxidants are very useful and valuable. I use quite a bit of them (dry forms) and they help my pain and burning. They also make your skin really soft, and nicer too. |
Nopalea
My sister in law came over and gave us this bottle of Nopalea and a box of Super sub-lingual B12s and claimed that it would revolution our lives. My wife and I have lived in southern California for a while and I smelled scam all over this. I said okay we'll try it to get her out the door.
Well, my wife and I did the dose that they recommended and the next day around 09:00 AM I thought what's wrong, I feel like I'm on speed. I haven't had this much energy since I was in my twenties (I'm 63 years old). I called my wife and she has had two failed backed surgery's from a railroad injury with chronic back pain and she said I think its better. One week later and she's been able to walk without a cane and states "I can't believe it, the pain is gone. As for me, I've had 5 invasive heart surgeries, two stents and was having chest pain when my sister in law brought this over. My thought process was that I I'm going to have to have another angioplasty or stent put in. I took the Nopalea and the next day the pain was gone. I don't know how this works but the pain was gone the next day and haven't had it now for going on 3 months. I don't know what is in it but it works. *edit* |
Nopalea
I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and have been on Copaxone for treatment. Recently ordered and tried the nopalea product and I notice a remarkable improvement in my energy level and fatigue. After about 3 weeks of the saturation dose (6 oz/day) I noticed more energy and improvement in my balance issues and focus. Pros are that it does what it claims as far as reducing imflammation since it has indeed improved my syptoms. It tastes great and I highly recommend it to friends who have suffered other conditions where imflammation is an issue. Cons: It is expensive (approximately $150/per month), but that's my cable bill in NY, so if I can improve my health for the price of bad TV, there's no question in my mind that it is worth the expense. And no, I don't work for the Trivita company, which sells the product, but my gratitude is with them for offering me a healthy alternative.

I didn't find any peer reviewed or published science on that juice, though there is some science on its ingredient, we just don't know how much of it is in that juice or not.
Im not saying it doesn't work, I suppose you would have to try it. I will say inflammation is a big deal, there are many products that claim to lower it. A good blood test is call C-Reactive Protein, and you can use that to measure its effectiveness. |
The information is very interesting. I just saw it the first time. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for link, Kitt. |
Nopalea is the absolute, no questions asked, BEST thing I have ever taken for my pain and inflammation. Nothing else I have ever taken comes close to it.
