I'm no expert but I would guess that this is a pure fluke.

I wouldn't think that this would stop you from getting SSD approved...

Remember though... many people are not approved on initial application and have to go through the appeals process.

I wish you the best.

You must feel like your personally getting picked on. Hope you saved all your paper work. You need to tell IRS that you are sick and fighting to get your disability. If you owe anything you can always apply for a hardship. You really don't need this, keep all your asthma medicine close by. Sorry wdwgranny.

Do you have any encouraging words for wdwgranny because she worries so much, I'm afraid she's going to end up in the hospital.

Do you mean audited by the IRS? If so, there's no connection between the two department. FICA deductions are where you SSDI insurance is accumulated for payment. Different thing all together.
Good luck with your audit. But, not to worry the two are not connected. Good luck with your claim.

yes the encouraging word is that it was an irs mistake, two years in a row and the same mistake both times and i owed them nothing. since then everything has gone smoothly.

hi agin , this is awful that with all the other stress u now have to deal with this If you hade accountant do your taxes then they will have to deal with the IRS not you if you did your own taxes if you check in your locO area there should be a group of non profit cpa's somewhere by you that cam help if not don't worrie till u see what they say of they come up with some crazy amount they think u owe then u can deal with it tlll then just stay focused on the ssdi and don't worrie about the tax man like one of the other posters said it's just. Random somtimes and from what I remember you saying you worked at the same job for years till they let you go because of your illness so it's not like you made 150 k and did not file your return so don't even worrie ok sweetie I fought mY case for ssdi for 4 years and I'm at the finish line and can tell you it is all wort the fight when you get here I will keep u in my thoughts and if you here from the IRS let me know my sister is a CPA and I'm. sure I can get you some answers ok you take care of you ,

One has nothing to do with the other

You're linking two separate governmental agencies together that don't care one bit about the other. Your SSD is based off of your disability, and then how much you've worked along with your age and some other stuff like that all added together.

Being audited is just a luck of the draw or if you had some items that we're flagged because of being a bit unusual. On a average 1 in 10 are audited and when there's extensive medical costs that number can be as high as 1 in 5 so don't worry. As long as you can prove your expenses most people often learn they're owed more than they originally thought instead of the other way around. It's only when there's some unique business expenses that the IRS gets a little nasty and I'm glad they do. It's time the average tax payer stop supplementing the two martini business lunch while we ate at McDonald's on our own dime.

when my case went to trail the judge said he gave most of the weight of his award to my dr so the letter my dr wrote was the winning factor so if you have a a good amount of appt with your dr saying the same thing about why you are disabled and you can get him to write a letter and fill out a Function report saying you can't work and he is a good dr it will give you a very good
shot at winning your case hope this helps I know it did in my case take care,
