ID Theft
 

Hi,

Our house was robbed and they stole our tax records with all our information on them. They have our social security numbers, bank numbers etc.

What a nightmare. My tension is really wearing me out! Doesn't help RSD one bit.

Very sorry to hear this. Did you report this to the police? Make sure they record everything missing and then I would contact the appropriate agencies of the theft ASAP.

I am so sorry. I'm glad no one was hurt though sorry for all that was stolen and the stress this is causing. Sending better thoughts and hang in there.

That's a bummer ! Scary for anyone, but yep......that added stress is not a friend to us RSD'ers.

Pam, I join all our other friends in sharing the same sentiments of the violation of your privacy. I know there are certain procedures to follow, but not sure what they are. Please contact police and protect yourself. I think it involves notifiying all your creditors, banks, etc. so crooks can't use your info to steal more from you. Exactly what we don't need in our life to add to our anxiety. Can someone help you get these things done? That would be wonderful. Take care, your friend, loretta with soft hugs:grouphug:

I am sorry you were robbed and are experiencing a lot of stress. Just in case you haven’t been told yet, you should do the following without delay. File a police report, not just regarding the physical theft, but also include the ID theft information in the report. Get a copy of the police report.

Contact the three major credit bureaus, TransUnion. Equifax, and Experian, and report to them the ID theft (they will require the police report), and ask for a security alert and a fraud alert to be placed on your account in all three credit bureaus. Also ask all three credit bureaus for a copy of your credit report (this is not a credit score) to check for any fraudulent activity. With the police report you should not have to pay for any of these requests. You can contact them online, by phone, or by mail. I personally prefer to do it by mail (but do whatever is easiest for you).
