Hi I'm new and scared

I have been told that I have brisk reflexes, all over, and bitlateral ankle clonus(unsustained). Does this always mean something bad.??

Is there anyone else on here that has been told they have brisk reflexes with a few beats of ankle clonus, that is still doing ok??

Hi
Welcome to this board! I think its going to be slow here today with the holiday.

I don't have any ideas or suggestions for you, but I'm sure somebody will be along who may be able to help. There are many people here who are willing to help.

Good Luck

First go to the top of the page and read the different set of 'Stickies'.

That will give you a chance to pick and choose a lot of info about PN and it's variants.
This one site mite be helpful in just a beginning outline? It's been updated and is GOOD! Not just about diabetic PN but about PN in general.

This mite also be helpful?

Don't do a sural nerve biopsy unless A]Cleared by your insurance and B]ALL other testing is inconclusive!

Read up on Mrs D's posts, depending on what meds you are on? Many anti-depressants and anti-seizure meds [such as neurontin] are well known to deplete your ability to asorb calcium. Calcium along with magnesium and Vite D are key to keeping many 'twitches' at bay. But don't just take ONE pill and expect a miracle? It'll take about 14-30 days for it to really work, and besides, in the meantime? It can't hurt you. Follow the dosage, maybe ask your docs for a complete metabolic blood panel? Sometimes, they mite have done it already? And have a copy? GET IT IF THEY DO! And, if they haven't ? Bet a lite bulb will go off and they will do it! Just get a copy so you can learn about it all yourself. It's not easy to learn about it? But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where the * [asterisks] are? Meaning tests with too low or high #'s -then read up on them and work your way thru it. We can help, but read up first, please!:hug:'s for now - j
