multiple bilateral tendinitis help

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this whole forum thing but I just wanted to see if anyone else is having any of the issues I am having. Everything started about three years ago with shoulder pain and being diagnosed with rotator cuff tendinitis. I also have tendinitis in my ankles, wrists, elbows and shoulders. I have had many steroid shots that don't help for long. I am now trying to type this with two thumb splint braces on, not easy. I went to the ortho dr today and he is a little baffled because all of my pain is bilateral with every tendin. The only word I recognized was possibly some sort of sclerosis. Has anyone else delt with any of this. I am sure I have more symptoms but I might not know they are symptoms. anything would help thank you.

Hmmm,
if it was only in the upper extremities I would think of maybe thoracic outlet syndrome or repetitive strain injuries of some sort.

maybe a connective tissue disorder?

do you think you could be hyper mobile? that could cause damages to the tendon if lots of sports or repetitive work...

Has a full blood work up been done & MRIs/x rays??

hi and welcome to NT.
i'm sorry you're going thru all this.
have you seen a rheumatologist?
try to push your dr to not give up. ask him to refer somewhere maybe someone else can figure this out.

i wonder if a teaching hospital setting would have a better diagnostic result for you?

please keep us updated.

multiple bilateral tendinitis

Hi Mamatiger

I am also new, I have the same symtoms that you describes. Five years ago I have a car accident, it was nothing serious but I felt asleep my ring and index fingers of the right hand just for 5-6 months. All the exams was negative, I never knew what was wrong. A year and a half ago the tingling come back but expand to all my arm (just the right one) and that was the beginning of all the pain. No mather what pill I take the pain didn't go away. Righ now I have problems with the whole right side of my body from the neck down, the doctors diagnosed multiple bilateral tendinitis with neuropathy but the they don't know the cause of this. The nerologist believes it is MS but could not confirm, meanwhile I started shaking and losing the ability to control the right side of my body. My tests remain normal

Did you take a quinolone antibiotic prior to your symptoms?

I'm wondering if prior to your symptoms (within a year prior) did you take a fluoroquinolone antibiotic such as Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox, etc? They are sometimes prescribed for UTI and sinus infections. I am asking you because I have tendon problems in approx 21 tendons (could be more, but not up for more testing). It is a horrible degenerative condition brought on by a toxic response to the antibiotic. They have debilitating effects on the tendons and CNS and PNS and interfere with the tendon being able to repair itself normally. I came on this forum looking for PN help and stumbled upon your post. Let us know if this could be the issue. Thanks and good luck!
