The heat is back and I can't stay awake!
Hey there all,
Yep, my symptoms are back, full blown. I'm not hungry any more, I'm exhausted, and I just want to lie in bed with ice packs on my feet and sleep all the time! When I get hot, my back breaks out in pin pricks, my legs break out in them, and I just fight with all my might to stay awake! If I'm driving, at my desk at work, or wherever, I just can't keep my eyelids up! Oh, new pain center too, my bladder! While sitting, it feels as if there is a rope tied around my bladder, and as soon as I stand up, there is a knife that starts stabbing me! Fun Fun! The issue is, I'm out of vacation and sick time..., my doctor just throws meds at me, which make me more sleepy, then I can't work... and soon I'm going to lose my job again! AAAAAgggggghhhhhh! I think today I'm going to go to a different doctor within our Kaiser program and ask for a different alternative. Maybe some Long Term Disability or something. Hoping they will give it to me!!!! Just so painfull... |
I am right there with you

Just read your post and I think it could have been written about me, except for the part about the bladder. I have just weaned off of Cymbalta because I didn't think it was helping me. Well, I woke up today and every bone in my body hurt, even the ones in my ears, I think. Now wondering if the Cymbalta was helping. :Hum:I am so tired of hurting......I am too young to feel like this. I have worked hard and am just at the part of my life where I can travel, etc and now I feel like "poo" most of the time. Luckily for me, I have the best boss in the world. She is so compassionate and understanding. I have never called in sick (have certainly wanted to) but she knows when I am having a bad day and accepts that I will not be 100% on that particular day. I go to Cleveland Clinic on Monday, June 14th. I am hoping that they find something else to try cuz what we are doing now just isn't cutting it!! The heat just does me in too. My fingers feel 3 times their normal size and I am clumsy, especially when using the computer. I just want to sleep in my bed with the AC on :Zzzz:and wake up when my symptoms are in remission (if they ever are again). Is that too much to ask????:hissyfit: |
I am sorry about your sturggles. I hope you get disability too and it is not a battle. I can't even imagine the stress this adds. In the mean time could you call your doc who rx and explain how you are feeling?
Kp who are you seeing at CC I was there for 2 pain docs so just curious. I hope you get some relief. I am weaning off Cymbalta too as I am not seeing much of a benefit but then I think who knows cause things could be even worse I guess. Feel better all |

Hi well I went to see 2 anesthesiologists there and did a few days of the day program pain clinic. I have RSD and PN. I guess with 1 doc I felt not good about the other 1 I felt rushed and not many options were given but if I were to have had a procedure I would of picked him for it possibly because I felt he had a lot of experience. I was diagnosticly tested out when I went there so mine was more about treatment. I always bring though all my records and a list of ? and concerns. I always feel nervous and rushed at the time. Have you been to CC before? It is huge and they have shuttles to and from buildings. Like when for my ekg, blood work, doc apt you get a shuttle to and from instead of driving and parking again. Good luck and keep us updated

Here's what the docs say so far:
So they've run yet "another" test for diabetes... still no diabetes. Checking thyroid, cholesterol, etc. I'll find out later today. Then I'm getting "another" sleep study done. Had one before and didn't get a sleep machine...but they seem to think that maybe that is the answer... hello.... I've LOST 35 pounds since the last one...oh well I'll do it.
Next, back to the Psychiatrist, to follow up on the depression. Because of course maybe that is causing the pain. Why not? I work for the insurance company that is paying for all these worthless doctors visits. HELLO.... it's because I travel 2 hours each way to work. Because I have PN and can't seem to get enough rest. Because the medication makes me sleepy and I won't take it at work because I fall asleep at my desk. As soon as I get home at 7 pm, I eat dinner, take a shower, put my feet up for 1/2 hour, then fall asleep at 9. That's pretty much all my life consists of. Saturdays I sleep. Sundays I go to church then do laundry. |
Weight isn't always an issue with sleep apnea. Very skinny people have apnea too. I am doing a sleep study Sat night again, they need to readjust my titration level since I have lost weight too. I always laugh at my neuro, he tells me to open my mouth wide, then tells me my mouth is too small...I always tell him he is the only person who ever tells me that!!!!:D The first thing he diagnosed with me was apnea and I laughed at him..never ever did I think I would suffer from apnea. I am not sure how much the machine helps me, but I do use it every night.

then fall asleep in the recliner til bedtime Saturdays I work, Sundays I do laundry, then 'nap' all afternoon til dinner, fold laundry, then fall asleep on front of the TV in the recliner, til bedtime. Yer not alone. |

No not alone. When I get off work at 5.30 I have a 30 -40 minute drive to pick up my son from relatives that look after him after school. Then another 30 minutes home due to traffic. We get home 6.30-6.45 sometimes even 7 pm. I always ask if he's eaten and when he tells me he has already had his dinner, I am so happy because I have absolutely no energy to cook. |
