Please help me calm down

Hello. I am shaking. I have been ill for years with Chronic Fatigue. Then last year, I got VERY ill with what I think now is Disautonomia.

I was watching a You Tube video about it and they mentioned small fiber neuropathy. I was sick. I think I have that in my feet. I am sure this all goes together.

I am going to see my doctor next week, but I am shaking, reading Google about it. I am lucky I also found your site about supplements that help.

I really need some guidance. I can hardly type, so nervous and afraid. Seems like I keep getting one thing after another. Things that are hard to help. I have been reading about supplements here and that gave me hope. I already take b12 pills and lCarnetine and many others, guided by my doctor.

Does Benicar cause PN, Levequin? I am on Benicar.

There's so much caring support here....... you are doin a good thing by concentrating on the supplement suggestions here.....
......focus more on that....maybe stay away from google for awhile.....
It ended up having me convinced I had 101 different terminal illnesses.... :o

Sally,

The amino acid Taurine is a huge, quick help for anxiety, pain and detoxification. I take 2 grams daily for Neuropathy. The herb Bacopa is also a quick route to releiving anxiety and neuralgic symptoms.

I didn't know there were these other options for anxiety!

The only one I knew of is "Valerian Root", which stinks like the back end of a skunk!!!

Hi I know it is hard to stay in the day but until your doctor appointment I would try hard to not get ahead of yourself. For me when I read about some health problems it sends fear into me which helps me in no way. What type of doctor have you seen and who mentioned or dx you with Disautonomia? Are you under any other treatment then supplements? I know it is hard to not get scared cause trust me life feels that way but I am really practicing to be more calm and not get ahead of myself. I hope your doctor can give you some answers

You haveta go to a neurologist who's a PN specialist
to really know if you have PN.
Other ailments such as fibro, MS, CTS, TTS, mimic PN.
It is a testing & elimination procedure.
Which tests and how to interpret them are most important.
There is no 'smoking gun' to test positive for the over
200 cuses of PN.
For a list of the tests to be administered - go to:

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

Yes Levaquin has the potential for damaging the nervous system:

Yes, burping up Valerian extract is a one time event...few have any fortitude to continue after that experience!

You said it very well, Rrae, and gave me my morning chuckle!

I have some Lipoic Acid Supreme from Designs for Health. I had them from my CFS doctor. Haven't taken it yet. Has Tauring and Lipoic Acid.

I have to sit all day. I have Disautonomia. It seems like having my legs on the ottoman make it happen or at least make it worse.

I will see my doctor soon, I have an appt.

I am sure if I do have it, it goes with the CFS/Disautonomia.

I had to go on Leviquin a year and a half ago. Seems a bit far back, but I did get on Benicar this fall. It is supposed to protect the kidneys and be good for the high bp.

I do hope I am wrong. I just don't want one more problem.

I do not have anxiety, but after I read about it, I got so scared. I have been through so much for 18 years with CFS. Thank you for being there.

Remarkably, I am very alive, with my quite severe 'dysautonomia' which in my case is autonomic neuropathy....Oh, and also, I have sensory PN too....which affects the motor functions.:)

Relax...you can manage this, more or less. Yes, it is a challenge, but, you can manage it.

The biggest thing is not to panic over the changes going on in your body....learn to roll with it.

Hey, Mrsd, I have similar flowers.....they are so pretty. This year, I went bonkers on Astilbe too. I found some very nice plants on sale for $5, big ones too!:D

Yes,....:o kinda like trying to pick up a turd from the 'clean' end?

cyclelops 06-18-2010 05:11 PM

ooooh my.....I will definitely skip Valerian. The turd image pretty much made up my mind.

Any idea what to do with all the spearmint growing in my garden??

Is bee balm good for anything?

Mere 06-18-2010 06:08 PM

Hey Sallyblooms, Cyclelops is absolutely right. You need to roll with it, otherwise, you will have an anxiety attack. Your body does not need that - your catecholemines are all ready out of whack!

I also have SFN and autonomic neuropathy and fibromyalgia and arthritis thrown in just because they sometimes go with it all. I have been sick for about 18 years after having a mycloplasmia pneumonia. I realize you feel like your going to check-out with the symptoms, they are horrible, but Cy and me are still here and we have been sick a long time with this crap!

If you need a doctor, go to the website http://www.dinet.org/physicians.htm

this is a list of doctors that specialize in dysautonomia. Many doctors (even neurologists) do not always know how to treat it properly. At least that has been my experience. I am now seeing a specialist that was listed here.

Thank you. I talked to my CFS doctor today on the phone. I started Alpha Lipoic Acid today. I see her in the office next week.
