Can anyone feel their leads?
 

I'm curious. I've read several different posts where it was mentioned that a recipient of a SCS claims they can feel the actual threading of the leads post-implantation. I cannot feel mine at all (Thank God!!) :hit-safe:. For those that do feel the leads, does your doctor/rep tell you that that is normal? Why do some feel their leads and not others? :Ponder:

I can trace my leads from my battery around to their insertion point in my spine, have always been able to/ Does not bother me but does freak out others when I show them my unit and explain it to them!

So you can feel your leads externally (with your hands), but do you also "feel" them internally?

I also can feel with my hands, fingers the leads.
I cannot "trace the whole path like Pooh can. I can feel the battery I can cup the battery sort of like take my hand ,fingers and instead of it being flat I can kind of flip it or... lift it like when one is picking up a coin from the edge and holding it between their fingers.
I can feel where the wires are leaving the battery and then nothing. the wires go across my back to middle of shoulder blades up to top of neck bottom of head, skull . then I can feel it with my fingers again when they reach where the wire goes behind my ear .I can trace it from there behind my ear and then to lower jaw and up to where the leads are along my lower right jaw .

I think it is because the leads are much closer to the outer layer of skin.I mean after all you can feel your lower jaw bone and so there is not much to cushion anything placed in that area of the body. I can only "feel it inside when it is turned on , I mean I dont feel it under my skin unless I use my finger to "touch" it . my body feels it when it is being used , when it is turned on ... and it helps so very very much to control and manage my pain.

Vanna, I do not "feel" them internally unless I overstrech/reach and by doing so tug in them. Hope this helps

I can feel my leads from the insertion point to my unit...externally as well as internally. Its gotten worse over time, most likely due to the swelling going down. I have a constant "pain" where my leads sit, its not a horrible pain but its definitely an annoying ache.
