Is it safe to take Paroxetine and Tramadol?
I was on Celexa but it didn't work for me. I had a huge loss of appetite that I couldn't deal with so my doctor switched me to Paroxetine. I'm also taking Tramadol, Gabapentin, and Nortriptyline.
The Paroxetine is for my anxiety and depression. The rest is to help ease my fibromyalgia symptoms. I notice that I'm having worse memory loss and it's bad to the point where I start spelling incorrectly. Thank goodness for dictionary** |
Tramadol has warnings to not combine with SSRI drugs (like Paxil) and MAOInhibitors.
Your pamphlet from the pharmacy should list this warning. And your pharmacist should call your doctor about it. Please consult your dispensing pharmacist for further information about safety. |

I reacted terribly to tramadol. I threw up violently within minutes of taking it and couldn't stay awake. I slept for about 24hours after taking it, only waking up to throw up some more. I was taking it for menstrual headaches. I have Myasthenia Gravis ,but did not know I had it at the time.

I agree with Mrs. D. Due to various illness'- I take different meds. Whenever I am put on a new medication regardless of the doctor/specialist- I always contact the pharmacist (who I work with regularly at Walgreens)- and inquire about any drug interreactions or side effects. It is always a good idea to do this- sometimes a doctor might forget/overlook one of your other meds and cause a mix-up with the new med combo.
