First good day in a while
I am having a good day, at least so far, as it is only 8:50 am. However, I am grateful for a morning where my pain level is at a tolerable level. If the day starts off bad, it stays that way. So.....will keep positive thoughts and pray that the day continues as it is right now. Anyhow, I thought it would be nice to hear what folks are thankful for. Maybe put a positive spin on the day...I will start. I am thankful for.........

My daughter in law and mother of my granddaughter, who has healed my son after his war experience. My sons in law, both the fathers of my grandchildren. The soon to be in laws, who need to kick it in gear. My beautiful 2 granddaughters and handsome grandson. The 3 year old granddaughter that greets me every morning with the cry of time to feed the 'chickababies!' My great extended family. The memories of my mom, dad and grandparents and wonderful in-laws. My best friend. My 3 labradors and 25 chickens and all the pets and animals in my life who have passed on. The wonderful people who have touched my life who are now gone. My sustainable living group who keeps me on my toes caring for my land and environment. It gives me reason and purpose. My beautiful property that allows me to raise great food and sell it to others. My great little town, with wonderful bike trail and lake. My old historic library. My town square. The troops including my wonderful son who did serve in Iraq and came back in a few pieces but alive, and my daughter who will do her second deployment to Afghansitan. I wish they did not have to go, but, I am proud of them for serving. The cabbage becoming sauerkraut in my kitchen-that I may eat sauerkraut again after watching this metamorphosis. Lady Bugs......and mosquito repellent. |
I am so pleased to hear that you are having a good day kp. :icon_razz:
Okay, I'll play... with so much negativity we feel about our health, this is a good exercise. I am thankful for: My husband, best fiend and love of almost 30 years My girls (cats), Ginger, Abby and Riva My family and the fact that we are close and find time to get together even though we live in different States My house and garden and all of the sweat equity we put into it and two other homes we have owned. A good work ethic that my husband and I share The Chesapeake Bay My knowledge of sewing, stained glass and jewelry design My appreciation of the fine arts Nature in all of its beauty Dusk and the pinkish light it brings |
Thanks Mere. That is exactly the reason I started this thread. To help us focus on something good, rather than focusing on the bad. My BFF and I text each other a "question of the day" M-F just as a way to stay connected. Sometimes they are silly questions, other times they are deep and thought provoking. Maybe some others will join in. I know they are lurking out there!!

I am thankful for my husband of 42 yrs who still helps me daily without complaint.
I am thankful each day for my son who is turning out well and who is happy with his life. (we do not have a large extended family, so that is not going to be on this list). I am thankful to have a roof over my head and car to get around in still. I am thankful my PN is manageable and not progressing, and that I can walk around still (if not great enough to do formal exercise anymore). I am thankful the d-ribose is kicking in and giving me more energy and better sleeping. I am grateful that my cats are still alive, although my oldest girl is failing now, and will have to be put down, when she gets much worse. I am grateful to be able to do the things I love still, if only in lesser amounts. I am very grateful to be physically independent for basic needs...and if I lose that it will be very hard for me to adjust! When you get to be my age, you can be thankful to just be able to do bathroom things alone! LOL;) |
Good thread! Thank you!
I am grateful for my husband!
Who has done a yeoman's bunch of work taking care of me in the past year! I am grateful to many of my docs even - many do understand and appreciate how debilitating some neuropathies can be. And are super kind to me accordingly. I am grateful to my friends for still being my friends, even tho I can't easily go and play with them [even grown-ups gotta play!] as we both would like! I am grateful to family who is trying to understand, tho hasn't 'gotten' it yet. I'm grateful and lucky that I've got good insurance so far-that tho? May change in the future. I have faith that I'm not going to be kicked out into the woods somewhere! The beauty in the world that we don't SEE until we are into it? Ever see some weeds up-close? Some of them are very pretty! I'm grateful for every sunrise and moon rise and sets of both! The world is still going around with or without me! I feel fortunate and rich in meeting soo many good people here!:hug::hug::hug::hug:'s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -j PS: I'm grateful for the ability to carry a cane and use it 'productively' on occasion! |
