Pristiq 50mg

I am switching from Cymbalta to Pristiq, I took the first tablet today and didn't notice any side effects.

If you are taking this med, I would like to know how it kind or unkind it has been for you. I realize that each person will have different reactions to any medication. I'm just looking for a little feedback from some one actually taking the medication.

Thank you in advance for your response.:)

Desvenlafaxine (Pristiq) is very similar to another SNRI, Venlafaxine (Effexor). My understanding is Pristiq is a new version of Effexor.

If you have taken Effexor without any problems then it's possible you won't have a problem with Pristiq.

I used Pristiq for about 2 weeks. I was not using Pristiq for depression but trying to find something that helps with pain. Unfortunately, Pristiq increased my anxiety and caused suicidal ideation.

I found the suicide aspect confusing and scary...I didn't feel depressed. I quit taking Pristiq and the suicidal thoughts went away.

Unfortuately, I am very med sensitive and have had this reaction on other meds. Both my doctor (Psychiatrist) and myself are very hesitant about trying new meds for me.

Well, you did ask for kind or unkind reactions

I hope Pristiq works well for you ;)

I am taking 100mg/day both for pain and depression. Only problem is if I miss a dose.
