They did this to children?
Every month there is another scandal of lack of human values in Pharma. Someday, they must become law-abiding citizens, or get out of the health business. Jim Edwards at Bnet (CBS Interactive) has been following the story of a clinical trial that killed 11 children… in a country where it is cheap to conduct clinical trials. This is not about Parkinson’s; this is much, much worse. It is about children getting caught in the same machine we are caught in. But we have had our lives to a great extent. But children? Children? They did this to children? We have to get Pharma straightened out, sooner or later.
Enough. Enough. Enough. ….”None of the victims of Pfizer (PFE)’s Trovan experiment in Nigeria — in which 11 children died and 200 were injured — have received their share of $35 million in compensation that the company agreed to pay them back in July 2009….” http://industry.bnet.com/pharma/1000...ctor-perfector |
Okay I am starting to swing my chainsaw around so I best chill out a few days.
Mind the shop. There's beer in the fridge. |
It's time that ordinary people in large numbers came out on issues like this, I wonder if online groups such as Avaaz have got this on their campaign list.
It's time people said, 'NOT IN OUR NAME' to things like this, and made sure the compensation goes to the victims, that nobody else dips their hands into the purse, and that an end is put to this kind of exploitation. I have a very personal interest in this particular issue, as people who know me will know. And I can say absolutely I would not have this kind of damage done to other peoples children. Not for anything. It is almost unbearable to think about. This is not the way to find cures. This is not thoughtful, responsible, analytical science......... this is something unspeakable.
