Its an MS thing. again!
many know I have been having tummy issues, and a frozen tummy, and constipation and pain...ima mess!
had an MRI the other day (miserable btw!) and the results are ...NORMAL! now, dont get me wrong, I am happy there isnt a big old honking tumor there, but if its normal, whats wrong?! Now again, when they run out of answers, they reach for the Its an MS thing. Dont you hate that?! I want a real answer please! |
I wonder what they'd blame it on if they didn't know you have MS?
|
They would say I was malingering or putting on a show I guess. Good gravy! I just want to know why my tummy bloats, swells, hurts, and make me crazy!
its an MS thing. |
Can you take Turmeric?
Turmeric’s Beneficial Effects in a Nutshell Strengthens and improves digestion * Reduces gas and bloating * Assists in the digestion of protein and with rice and bean dishes * Improves your body's ability to digest fats * Promotes proper metabolism, correcting both excesses and deficiencies * Maintains and improves intestinal flora * Improves elimination of wastes and toxins http://articles.mercola.com/sites/ar...Arthritis.aspx |
I would not start trying a bunch of home remedies before investigating this. I would find the best gastroenterologist you can and talk about motility, gastroparesis, and other auto immune issues of the digestive system. It is not uncommon for healthy women to have issues with slow gut as they age. Add in MS and you have enough reason to look into it further. I wish you the best. I deal with Crohn's (following colitis and removal of my entire colon) and swing between blockages and fast transit. Inflammation really aggravates this, and my MS symptoms usually flare at the same time (fun :-| ) . . . not!
Lots of fluids, yogurt/probiotics, and magnesium is all I would advise until you are checked out. |
I have tried tumeric in the past without help.
I have a great top notch MD who specializes in GI stuff, and rare cases. He is investigating it slowly with me.We are all thinking that the copaxone was keeping it all upset. It says right on the lable that copaxone can cause pancreas and stomach issues. So, we are hoping this break will calm thins, and it will provide our answer. If not, he will want to try some other interventions. I am under a great deal of stress at the minute with a sick kitty. money is just pouring out of this house, and my husband hasnt been feeling well, along with mis baving family members. I am ready to go camping in my yard! just run away from home, but to the driveway. I just hate when they always revert back to "we dont know, so...it must be an MS thing." That is NOT an answer! |
Well, even if it is n MS THING, what are they doing about it? What a cop-out.
Let's hope it goes away, after you've been off the C for awhile. |
i know how frustrating this is dej.
sounds like you have a great dr who is willing to hang with you. let's trust in that and see what happens. how long have you been off the C? how long does it take to get the drug levels out of your body? |
Gastroparesis
I came across this article and thought of you, Dej. Have they ruled this out yet?
