Potassium preparations

hello everyone!

my name is maria. i'm from russia, have mg and really need your advice.

can you please tell me some names of the potassium-containing preparations (supplements)? i suppose they are not marked as drugs so i can order them w/o problems.

the fact is that there is a huge and awful problem with drugs and medication here (in russia). now we have orotic acid which has very weak effect and cacl (potassium chloride) as pulvis which i do not want to use because on pred now and suppose it's too hard for stomach.

i would be very appreciative for your advices and opinions.

Potassium supplements in the US are on RX only.

There are OTC tablets, but they only have 99mg in them, which is nothing. Daily recommended intake for potassium from food is now 4.5 grams.

Most potassium can come from food, if you choose wisely.

1/2 cantaloupe has about 1400mg in it...that is more than an RX supplement.

This website has food content on it... and is very useful:

Watch serving sizes, because some are odd, on there.

Hi Maria, welcome aboard...!
You may try this link for potassium content in food

Personally I eat one banana a day and lots of nuts of various origins, mostly almonds and hazelnuts.
Watch out for excess of potassium which may also create some problems.
Maurice.

guys, thanks a lot!

the problem is that now i can eat cereals, cream soups and mash potatoes. and i eat sooo little so additional potassium preparations is the only way to make good its deficit.

so i'm using KCL now...
