Christmas in July? Really?

Have you all seen that some stores are setting up decorations and playing Christmas music and having Christmas sales this month?
I sure hope they don't keep the whole thing going until December...I'll tear someone's eyes out if I have to hear carols for 5 months...

"Christmas In July" sales aren't unusual, but setting up decorations & playing Christmas music? That's just wrong...

AMEN!!!!!

Perhaps the only way to get the stores to quit doing it is to start a massive outcry and get people behind it such as some of the causes on facebook, my space ect have been able to do. There is a huge boycott "BP" right now going on but if you boycott your local BP station you are really not hurting BP that badly but you really are hurting the local family who owns that station and your local economy. When rules come down from corporate headquarters some times they do not think about what is in the best interest of the local level just searching for that dollar you might part with. If people would not start buying Christmas decorations when they put them out to buy in July then they would find that it isnt such a good idea but as long as customers keep quiet and those who want to "get a jump on the season" continue to buy the decorations the stores will make Christmas more and more commercial and less about the True Reason for the Season. So the next time you are in a store who decided to put up those decorations and play commercial christmas music in July.... go to the customer service desk..ask to speak with the manager on duty and let them know how you feel about it also ask for a comment card so you can get your opinion up to the upper management. I'm sure most if not all of those store employees would love not to have to listen to Christmas music for 5-6 months of the year!

hummm decided that that sounds like a good idea... anyone on facebook search for NO Christmas in July group... going to go set it up now lol

The sad fact of the matter is that Christmas decorations and such have a very high mark up. This is an advertising promotion that targets the population that is not interested in buying back to school merchandise. It also helps counter-balance the loss that retailers take on back to school hard line merchandise. If the retailer offers lay-a-way this promotion can target the BTS shoppers by making lay-a-way available for the Christmas merchandise. So Ho Ho Ho, Lisa
