The wait is over.....kind of.

Went to the cleveland clinic on the 26th for skin biopsies and EMG/NCS. First was the EMG/NCS. I had this done previously at another facility and a combined total testing time was about 35 mins. At CC it took almost 3 hrs. Either CC's was overkill or the other facility's testing was worthless.

As far as the skin biopsies........I was a baby. :Sob:Really worried about what to expect......fear of the unknown. It was really a piece of cake. A little burning from the xylo but other than that it was a breeze. They put these huge dressings on me......made it look like I had been in a battle. :yikes:I figured what the heck. Might as well garner a little sympathy while I can. It worked for a day or so til I had to change the dressing and they saw how small the biopsy sight was. Just waiting for the call to hear the results from all of this. Thought I would share....so far my opinion is that.....Cleveland Rocks!!:You-Rock:

They have a fine reputation and seem to be
very good at Dx'ng PN problems.

I am glad you got the biopsies. Hope you get the results soon.

Hooray! Brave person!

I'm of two minds as to the results? One that they SHOW you've 'got something'? And the other that they don't.
To 'have something' means Yeah! You aren't crazy? But if not? What now?
For now? Please take it all ONE STEP for each diagnoses or not. Trust me on this?
Keep faith and keep AT IT! Hugs and hope!:hug::hug::hug:'s! - j

It is a double edged sword....Dahlek is correct.....

But it --

still would be nice to know something at least.

100% correct

I am thinking the same thing.........if they tell me there is nothing there, I will think I am crazy!! (Have already had one abnormal EMG/NCS but as we all know, that could mean absolutely nothing!!) If they do tell me there is something, well, then life changes in an instant. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. What is one to do??? Just waiting to hear something from the clinic with results. Said 1-2 weeks, one week today. Nothing like being impatient!!! lol Thanks for the hugs.......certainly feel defeated at times.

Ain't that the truth!!

AMEN!! I can't stand the not knowing..........

Even IF things say 'nothing'?

The fact that you've stuck it out w/all the testing 'should'have gotten at least ONE doc's curiousity up? :Scratch-Head: I sure hope so!
At least you KNOW what IT isn't for now. Start looking? [Just in case?] at other possible docs, and be SURE you get copies of all these tests 'for your records'! You'd be surprised what all you can learn, tho not necessarily discern from it all. Boggles the brain.
Another set of nerve conduction studies should 'likely be set up' for 3-6 months later to 'assess' any changes. DUH? Next and equally important should be blood work! Expect a barrage of that, and just be sure to hydrate well for the 3 days before the test, when you start 'fasting' [which is usual']. Between those two? They could IF smart zero in on a good problem and equally more important a good solution!:hug::hug:'s - j
