i saw the article...
i like the idea of something fast working, but... it sounds kinda scary to me! :o:eek: especially the fact that there is a high potential for abuse. here for fast treatment of depression (inpatient anyway) they use low doses of an antipsychotic that is also useful for treating negative sx of schizophrenia. the drug is made by a small UK firm ... costs too much to get it approved by the FDA... so unlikely it will ever make it to the US. :( ... would be nice if some US researchers would distill an antipsychotic with similar (antidepressant) properties... they keep pushing newer and "better" antipsychotics that target the same symptoms ... keeping the patents fresh, no doubt. :rolleyes: ~ waves ~ |
