Telephone pain

hi, anyone ever have pain and numbness in arms just from holding phone up to ear to listen to call in a completely normal way, no strange positions , no head forward etc just as I said holding phone up to ear and in a minute or two the numbness and pain begins and over time becomes progressively worse? This was mild when first noticed it but has become more painful and starts in a shorter amount of time and now takes longer to return to pre-call state.

thanks rich

Probably why I don't care to talk on the phone much..:(
My arm/wrist/shoulder get to an uncomfortable stage with phone use over a few minutes. They don't get numb just discomfort/achy feelings.

Welcome to NT

Yeah, know what you're talking about. It happens with TOS and neck related conditions.

I suggest a headset for your phone. I also needed a hairdryer stand. It's the little things that can make life esaier.

Stick around and look at all the info we have here. It can be overwhelming.

Hope you get some much needed relief real soon.

See ya around...

I also get pain from holding a phone to my ear - i use headset....can tolerate holding handset for a few minutes before pain sets in. No numbness for me, just pain/coldness/weakness!

One of the chief issues of TOSers.
I also have to remember to use a head set, end up switching hands every minute or so if not.

The position closes in the outlet, trying to drive, blow dry hair, cut your child or spouses hair, Hang a picture,
Try holding down a pet to groom, knitting, crochet, peeling potatoes and carrots,

Gosh we have to find the thread, YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TOSER IF:
Welcome to the site.,

Yes I still experience this post surgery. This is especially painful/annoying along the inside of my bicep. You aren't alone in this. Good luck with getting your symptoms resolved though

Thanks
